Balls have changed since back in the day. Fanbookz brings you two videos a day from Oliver Kahn (Bayern Munich) and Peter Schmeichel (Manchester United) all week (19th-23rd January), the keepers discuss all things football.
It's football gold, Manchester United's 2-1 win over Bayern Munich, 26th May 1999. Manchester United and Bayern Munich had only met twice in competitive matches before the '99 final, so anything could happen. But after a dodgy start United snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

- leather footballs with a synthetic skin were introduced during the 1970s (starting with the famous Telestar in 1970) - the first fully synthetic ball was the ball of the 1986 WC (Adidas' Azteca) - Teamgeist and Jabulani were the ones with the extremely unpredicable behavior , due to the fact that balls were getting 'too round' since the early 2000s; the newest footballs seem to have get rid of this problem (no idea how)

Correct explanation especially when at 2002 the ball started use with fever nova and many goalkeepers fooled by the ball include kahn at wc’02 final game

I think the translation is angled a bit. I did think it was funny the way Peter said “I have a son that plays” lol yes he is a class champion and well known

It does explain why goal scoring records are being smashed, Ronaldo and Messi wouldn't have scored half of their goals 30 years ago because they'd break their foot or the goalkeeper would already be in position

on the other hand roberto carlos will break the ball if he is still playing now

Even in the 90s - early 2000s balls were still tough as nails . Especially the Tango europa and the Unifico (90 world cup ball ) , and the Geo Merlin

@@seduxtive776 totally, I remember training with those balls when I started, makes Shearer even more impressive, but dude watching old clips of Bobby Charlton smashing that wet lump of leather makes me feel the pain 😂

Tony Haven makes me feel more respect for the pre 1979 generation, used to hate playing with the Unifico , cause after 10 - 15 minutes it would get painful to kick . Also the wet conditions made those types of balls a nightmare to play with , because they wasn’t such thing as artificial pitches , the grounds would be very wet, cold and often churned up and tackles were particularly vicious then , you often got away with tackles from behind . Makes me think whether or not messi and CR7 would have got as many goals as they would have back then .

These Translation are bad. Kahn is talking about aviation, stall areas and nowadays balls and it's translated with "the balls are so unpredictable"

you mean elevation ? or it's really aviation ?

@@pandjiaryopoerwono3789 pooh it's 2 y ago. I guess he talkes about aviation like how the balls are behaving in the air nowadays

Why does Kahn keep swapping between English and German? And does Peter understand German?

Danish students have German throughout their education. Most students hate it though, as it is a difficult language because of its complex gramma.

3:06 of all the photos they could have used they chose the most unflattering shot of Kasper. disrespect right there.

I don't know. It's not the greatest photo ever but it's still a cool one because Kasper is actually using a technique that became popular because of his father (the star save)
