The cylinder rotation change (anti-clockwise versus clockwise) came about after the invention of the swing out cylinder, prior to that most guns (if not all) had clockwise rotating cylinders. I appreciate the 'shout out' buddy, lol. The Schofield is a great gun, there is a small button underneath where the pivot point is that will enable the user to defeat the lifter for the shells (if needed), makes reloading in situ a tad easier as the shells are held in the cylinder rather than the extended ejector rod. Another great video, you had me at 'revolver', lol .

The grips actually look like a decent walnut. I want a Model 3 Russian. It would require making a new barrel and frame, so only the grips would be common on the outer shell. The nice part is that it can be dry fired safely, where a real Schofield would damage the firing pin if there were no primer to cushion the fall. The Smith & Wesson #3, which predated the Colt Single Action Army, was a shorter frame than the later Colt, so it couldn't take a full length .45 Colt cartridge. When the Schofield was developed they cut down Colt cartridges to fit. The .45 Schofield cartridge fit either gun. In swing-out cylinders, the force of rotating the cylinder would try to open the cylinder if it rotated clock-wise. If the cylinder rotates to the left it pushes the cylinder closed.

On a Schofield and Webley break open load, you always loaded from 10 oclock backwards to 12..oclock, the reason for this was because if you had loaded just one or two but you saw the enemy getting too close for comfort you could snap it closed and have at least one or two shots ready lined to go when cocked as where to if you had started at 12 or 1 oclock and had to snap it closed quick you would have to work the action at least 4 times before getting a round aligned which could be time that got you killed. Lol.

Super easy to load. When it comes to "fan" or "fanning" it doesn't allow any error or the barrel wil open. I find the sight difficult, But it's fun

There is a full chrome version on the horizon, just heard about it before this weekend, might be one to look out for to add to your collection. Btw, the pellet version doesn't have a rifled barrel, it supposedly has rifled cartridge cases but it doesn't seem to suffer in the accuracy stakes for not having one and the power output for the gun is truly phenomenal, mine averages around 415fps over the course of around 72 shots !
@airgunreplicas77

Hmm, I’m not sure about a chrome version. I’m sure it’ll look stunning but I do quite like the weathered look of this one.

I have a silver Schofield M3 pellet version, the grips were whote but looked so plasticky l swapped them for the wood type grips on the antique version, then l bought a steel grey one thats bb, it looks more like smoked glass beautiful.

Great trigger on these guns. Well, not "great", but well above average for an airpistol....lol. The groove running down the top of the barrel, is what's known (in the real steel shotgun world anyway).... as a "tramline" rib. Indeed used for faster acquisition to the target. I believe Webley shells are interchangeable with this Schofield. Great video and this Yank is very impressed with your Wild West pistol knowledge.....😁

@@MegaFrank1960 l have the 22 version of the Webley VI in pristine condition, l had 3,Webley 177s but the seals kept going after only a 3 co2 bulbs, l bought 22 pellets for it but only fired it twice, l got it the same time as a 177 which as said seals went, sent it back to get repaired, took em 6 weeks then they just gave me a refund instead, so l just keep the 22 as a novelty its the first time I've seen a replica co2 pistol in 22 l bought a gun case for it though l wish l hadnt as l may sell it shortly. With the 177 in showroom condition l just took some fine glass paper and sanded spots on the gun that that would get worn over time rubbing against a holster and tho l say it myself it looked as good if not better than the worn battlefield finish you can get and which look best in my opinion, tho I've left the 22 alone in original condition in case l want to sell it.
@biggusdickus5986
@biggusdickus5986 Год назад
A trick l do is fill as much of the inside of the grips and the tang gaps as l can without impeding the co2 bulb, with blutack it gives the grips a solider feel and a little more weight to the gun.

Does your schofield have a slight barrel wobble/play? Mine is brand new and has some, its not visible but can be felt when putting the gun down for example.

Between this and the single action army by ASG (do they call it the Remington?), which do you think has the better accuracy? Either really shine in terms of being better quality over the other? I heard the single action isn't fully riffled.
@airgunreplicas77
@airgunreplicas77 Год назад
The SAA i have is a Umarex product but I don’t have the pellet version (yet) so can’t really make an accurate comparison. The Remington 1875 is a third option to the Schofield and Colt. I think it’s released through Crosman as the Sheridan Cowboy but I don’t have that gun either I’m afraid. The quality of the Schofield (Asg) and the Colt SAA (Umarex) is comparable I’d say. My Schofield is more accurate than my SAA but that may be the pellet gun vs BB gun element.

The safety is there for those who don't know what they're doing..... SA revolvers are not that common these days not too many people have hands on experience with them. There are records from back in the day here in the USA of soldiers and civilians doing harm to themselves or others by mishandling SA firearms that were made without safety catches and are easy to discharge by accident or negligence. Personally, I like the safety, not because I'm not safe with the gun, it's for the guy that picks up my gun and goes "ooooooooh " bang "Oh sh*t....sorry".....

My nickel UmarexSAA colt fires 130 odd pellets to a co2 bulb for some reason and the rest of my revolvers around the 60 odd mark even the same model colt only in diferent finish l have it in aged black and a bb version in blue, Schofield, Remington, and Webleys all around 60 odd but for some reason the nickel colt over a 130.. Must have just got lucky with the seals l guess.

@@airgunreplicas77 The Webleys are great but the 177 are prone to the seals breaking and leaking gas after only a few shots, ive had 3 177s and everyone has gushed gas after only a short time even tho l never leave the ci2 bulb in longer than the shooting session which is no longer than 30 mins in all and l always use pelgun oil on the nipple of the bulb , l bought 2 brand new a 177 and a 22 Webley VI.. Ive shot the Webley 22 just one co2bulb and the smack of the bigger 22 is great. But I'm going to sell it and cut down on my collection, its brand new all but for the trial l gave it.
