This game looks absolutely fantastic! Everything works together love the dice combos. Love the translation chaining. Love the tracks. Love the tableau building. Can’t wait to play myself. Thanks guys. Excellent video.
This game definitely looks like a brain breaker [ 23:29 ]. Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the fun playthrough. I think it will be a bit before I can get all the dice combos down, but I'm sure looking forward to trying.
I speak English and Spanish, but would love to learn Swahili and/or Arabic. So excited for this game, despite how complex the dice and worker color combos sounds. I also NEED to play me some more Wayfarers before this arrives on my doorstep in Bend, OR.
Richtig unterhaltsam. So macht Spielen Spaß!
I speak Norwegian (and obviously English as well), I took French for five years, but sadly never got proficient enough to use it, I can say couple of sentences and count, lol - I've been told my French pronounciation is good though, so I have at least that, lol. Other than that I learned to count to 10 or more in a few languages (German, Italian, Japanese and Thamil)
I'm less intimidated by this than wayfarers, although I'll be interested to watch the solo play since that'll be how I play it. Such an interesting game! As for languages I can speak, I have a native-speaking-toddler-level Spanish vocabulary. The more I considered that, the more American I felt ... I have always wanted to learn sign language.
Hell yea, brothers !! Just starting the video now, hope i didn't overhype it a few months ago, freakin love this game. Shem Phillips is out of control!
I speak English and Bosnian, but when I write CVs I say that I also speak Serbian, Croatian, and Montenegrin as well since they're all so similar to Bosnian!
At 13:36 Mike takes a bump on the green track despite playing a blue die, I believe you're online supposed to bump on the same trick of the die you played right?
They're honestly very different games. This game is far more linear whereas Wayfarers is more open ended. Wayfarers is harder to teach but not as heavy
@@TheBrothersMurph so wayfarers lighter and open ended, scholars heavier and linear. Gonna try wayfarers this weekend so I’ll see how smooth it’s gameplay is
I speak Spanish (first language) and English. Would love to be fluent in Italian… gotta get back to Duolingo. Also, great play through! I’m so excited to give Scholars a try.
Thanks for the play through. I speak Danish (and understands Sweedish and Norwegian) and also speaks English an German. I had Russian back in high-school but really don't remember any of that.
This looks great! It's a shame that Nick kept forgetting to take the research bump from translating, definitely lost some end game points and must have hurt his resources during the game. I'm a native English speaker, but also speak a bit of Dutch, Greek, French and German. And I learnt to read Ancient Babylonian in grad school. Having moved to the US a couple of years ago I'm planning to get started on Spanish soon!
Wowww, nick knocking his blue 2 over and then setting it to a 3 and then using it go move 3 times.. foul!! Hahaha. I wonder how often i do stuff like that. Heheh
The south trilogy brought the dice as the main thing, were in the West was the a lot of workers, and the North the strange very few workers, what you guys think the East is going to have different?
I would like to learn Japanese. I have a friend that came here for work in 2019, but his contract ends next month and he will be going back home. It is my goal to go visit him and his wife when I finish my degree. Why go back to school to be a teacher if you don't travel during summer break, right?!
1:04:06 Yellow and blue makes orange, Mike? Otherwise, I really appreciated seeing this game being played because it helped me understand the rules. Thanks a lot! Playing this later today and I’m super excited! 😀
P.S. I love Wayfarers; was my most played game last year. P.P.S. I speak English and French fluently and know some scattered words and phrases in Dutch and Hebrew. Can often understand Spanish or Italian because of French.
Just saw your video on BGG about Yawning Portal. Nick, you have a HUGE range in your voice. Do you sing? You are very gifted. I could see you narrating books, seriously!
Just got mine in the mail last week. Looking forward to playing it. Seems like a lot going on...how did they not include a scoresheet for keeping score??!! a lot of points to add up at the end.
I have a question: when there is the possibility of retiring a translator, do you only choose one on which you have placed your influence marker or can I choose any other translator ready to retire?
MIKE, U have 3 points more, in the last turn the translator should retiring. Languages: Dutch, German and English. At the end all gold on your translators return if they did not retire, so Nick might have had an extra point.
When you travel and put a scroll onto the board, you only earn the reputation and gold, not the bottom effect.. that only happens if someone translates it
1:04:05 - Mike uses blue and yellow to make orange (it should be green))) Nevertheless, great playthrough and great game) I speak Ukrainian, English and russian
