Most tiny homes seem super cramped and uncomfortable to me but this is so nice and spacious. It wouldn't feel nearly as claustrophobic with all that natural light and room to walk around in. This is definitely my favorite style of tiny home.

The young man is smart and his tiny home is attractive/ well thought out with a shower and toilet which is an important feature to installed for any off grid conversion. 🤗

I agree, but there is a bit of a downside, in that people used to buy houses in their mid to late 20s, pay them off over the decades and the land would appreciate over time, and selling the house 50 years later often helps fund people’s retirement. But the buses and tiny homes are essentially like RVs….their value only only depreciates with time. It would be great if more areas had tiny land parcels for sale to offset this.

Since I was 14, I have dreamt of living on my own in a motorhome and just travel Europe as I'm from the UK, People said I was crazy and weird.. to want to do that alone.. So I stayed in the city got a girlfriend had two children, and now I'm stuck in a city dreaming of this lifestyle.. I would not change my life (children) for anything but I do regret not trying this lifestyle

You have to drive through Loudendale to reach the park to be honest. A coworker of mine spoke about how he broke down when leaving the park one day. He said they walked out of the park and went to the first house to ask to call a friend to pick them up. They talked about the car breaking down and he said the people where was really nice to them. Lol, he said "We are sitting their on their front porch, waiting for my ride. Then, suddenly, this lady walks out and offers us fresh baked cinnamon rolls! Only rich folk ever own or build one of these houses

His bus cost $20k to build, but it really does look like he used all brand new building materials. But $20k is still much cheaper than actually buying a house. But I have seen buses be built for under $5k including the price of the bus and if using all reclaimed material from habitat for humanity or the free listings on craigslist. The buses can be bought quite cheap, usually under $2.5k if you keep your eyes open for good deals. Typically the bus, solar, and insulation will be the most expensive purchases. Most of the build can be done with free or very cheap material. Even his fridge was under $150 I think, he bought it as a floor model. Craigslist would be awesome for this as well as finding old rvs that are being remodeled or parted out and you can buy their stove and fridge. My plan is to buy a bus, insulate it and put the flooring in and slowly build it out over a year or two while living in it. Most of these bus life people do start out small and with not much at all. You can just slowly upgrade everything as you find things over time for good deals. For example. Your kitchen sink. All you really need is a bowl with a hole in it with a pipe leading down over a bucket with a cheap little foot pump faucet. You don't have to start out with a huge grey water tank, expensive sink and electric water pump. It is actually easier to start out small as well so you don't get overwhelmed with massive projects after buying expensive material. Another simple easy starter trick is to just use little solar lights like, fairy lights, Christmas lights and other off grid lighting until you can get the whole bus wired in with all of the light fixtures. Then you can always keep those solar lights as back up or portable lights for emergencies or outdoor decorations. I have even seen a different bus with 4 bunk beds in the back of the bus that would sleep 8 people! Just seeing that made me think that 8 people could live together in a bus and save all of their money and at the end of 6 months to a year, they could each have enough money to build their own buses! There are just so many possibilities! I hope you understand now that this lifestyle is not a rich folk thing. Some rich people do own some nice buses, but the majority of bus owners are just normal people wanting out of the rat race!

@@eileenloves4802 what planet do you live on.. 2.5k $ for a bus?.. yeah, if it's ready for the press maybe, if you want one in decent condition then get ready for 10k+. Next, add up all the materials and work effort required for the conversion at 10$ per work hour and 1000+ hours to finnish the job. All of that combined is a minimum of ~60k $. When you are done with all of that, you have to register all the conversions with the police/insurance if you want it to be road legal, probably a couple more grand. Next, pay hefty insurance, maintenence, and registration every year. And lastly, pay a small fortune every time you stop at a gas station to refuel the monster that consumes insane amounts of fuel with that giant old 8+ liter engine that has to pull 3 tonnes of metal and probably gets like 5 mpg. Replace tyres, no problem, another grand, etc, etc..

@@helperfunction4981 No on calculates their hours put in, yes it's a lot of work, but you are not paying yourself an hourly wage! lol And most of these skoolies are bought at auctions. A lot of them come with their service records since schools legally have to stay on top of everything. Of course it would be ideal to go check out the bus before bidding to make sure everything is okay with it including the year on the tires and tread. Check out govdeals.com for cheap buses. Most are taken out of the fleets just because safety regulations change and most people want older buses because they are easier and cheaper to work on without the computers that they now have. Pre 97' would be most ideal, they can also be converted to veggie oil as long as they are diesel, so you can save in fuel cost and I don't know where you are getting 5mpg? Even the 40 ft buses get 6-10. Obviously not the best but definitely not 5. Fuel cost really only matters if you are trying to get across the country in a week. Traveling a couple of hundred miles or less a month is not going to break the bank. As for insurance, everyone registers their buses as RV's and I have heard from multiple sources that own skoolies that insurance through state farm is under $50. And registering it depends on your state. It's super cheap and easy here in TN but I have heard people from other states say that it is under $1,000. It really does sound like you just want to be outraged at someone and it sounds like you haven't done you research. So I won't be back to speak to you. I'm not fond of arguing with anyone especially someone that doesn't have their facts straight. All I can say is do more research before you speak nonsense to people you don't know.

@@eileenloves4802 First, the 5 mpg was taking into account the lack of compression in a trashed engine that has 500k+ miles on it. Next, you have to calculate the value of your work hours that you put in, time/work is not free. Doing work on it by yourself? Good luck if you have a transmission problem (and you will eventually), not only do you need knowledge, but it weights 250 kg so unless you have a shop with all the tools forget diy, you will take it to a mechanic and the rebuild will cost 5000 dollars minimum. A lot of what you mention is luck dependant, you could be lucky and ride it problem free first few years, or it could be a nightmare from day one. Imagine that thing breaking down while you are on a trip, you can't even tow it without a special tow truck. A flat tire is another nightmare, those huge nuts are so tight you will need a power wrench and it's a min 2 man job. There are many hidden problems that await you if you decide to go that route. If you are financially well off, then by all means, go ahead. But it is definitely not a frugal way to live, on the contrary, it can be expensive as fuck
