School counsellors are always either the most incredibly interesting, helpful, caring people you’ll ever meet or the most profoundly monotonous, uninterested assholes and there is no in between
UR SO RIGHT!!!! I have been soooooo lucky to have such lovely counselors (one was an absolute eternal sweetheart, and another was a badass anarchist who straight up told me I could stop doing my homework for a while if I was overwhelmed. BOTH offered to let me stay in their office until class period was over) but I have indeed heard horror stories about counselors snitching to parents / outing students and not caring about them
@@MONARCH_FLIESI feel like any school counseler should suggest just, stop doing homework if it's harming your mental health. Using a little extreme example but school work shouldn't matter if you feel like killing yourself. My high school counciler always helped me connect with teachers to figure out what the bare minimum work I could do to pass classes when I felt too awful to do all the assignments
@@MONARCH_FLIES Hey yes hi that happened to my friend where he came out as trans to the school counselor but explicitly asked them not to tell his mom and guess what fucking happeneddddd. anyways i really dont trust school counselors just on the basis of i havent had any especially good interactions w them but like ur counselors sound cool as fuckkk
you’ve somehow managed to perfectly capture the kind but vaguely threatening tone all school counselors speak with and their complete refusal to elaborate on any of their cryptic statements about “other options”. this is perfect
dang. My only interaction with my school counselor was when she told me it was rude to tell someone that they got some facts wrong while I was debating them in a history class.
"you only get to do high school once" caught me off guard considering that i never involved in any clubs during highschool , and when i did never felt part of it
My hs had a teen health center, they were helpful and they also got me involved with some counselors that helped me get some depression medication and helped with my adhd
My elementary school counselor was amazing. I got bullied nonstop from the day I entered school to the day I graduated. He was so kind and would let me come any time just to get away. We played little games and read. High school, not so much. The “counselors” were also the academic advisors so they didn’t really focus on the emotional side of things.
If the world had more counsellors like this I think we'd be in a better place. Luckily back in my HS days there were some good ones especially when I was struggling with depression. I was even able to get someone trained in psychology to come and talk things through with me. As for this RP it was very good and I liked how you incorporated your injury into it. The humming at the end was really nice too.
This was surprisingly rage inducing, very impressive! Brought me right back to my prep school days and “friendly chats” with dorm faculty. Good to see my issues with authority figures are still alive and strong
This channel is so hypnotizing. Idk if I’ve been getting tingles from these videos but man, other than friends and family it’s hard to think of anything else that has given me this kind of feeling of warmth, safety and lingering psychological boost without costing my soul it’s peace in the long run. So thank you, didn’t know I needed some good asmr until now but I sure am grateful to have found it
had my 12th and final session with my counsellor last week and had a complete spiral. this is very much needed as i’m still struggling, since she was my first ever counsellor and showed me a kindness that i had never known. sessions were limited as there are many other students in need, but i hope she knows how much she helped me.
"Your bangs go past your eyebrows," Ma'am, I'm a guy. As it shows on my record, my bangs go past my mouth when I let my hair down. You don't need to shy around it. It's like that because it's comfy, and I'd rather not change my hair for a school that has this strict of a dress code, I will wear the uniform, I will straighten my cuffs, but I shall style my own hair till I return to dust, thank you.
This was too realistic! I've been out of high school for a while now but I went to catholic high school and when the uniform was brought up I instinctively rolled my eyes like I did as a teenager! I definitely spent way too much time in these offices back then hahaha! You managed to get that mix of calming but anxiety inducing down perfectly! Great video, you just got a new sub for sure!
this was probably my favorite video from you. this was so comforting. as someone who constantly went to the school counselor with emotionally exhausting experiences, this video makes me a lot to me. it almost made me cry. it really felt like you were talking to me. especially since i also have a journal i write in. thank you for your videos. ♡♡♡
I’ve had one good school counselor that helped me change my outlook on life. The rest I either never interacted with, or were racist and made school extremely hard for me. This is how I’d imagine a school counselor was supposed to act 😅 I’m kind of healed by this, even with all the invasive vibes, this video gives me a sense of control over a comical situation.
Your channel is great for having tons of unexpected, hilarious little bits in every video. The vibes are immaculate, thanks for sharing what you make 😄
i love how everyone is super relaxed by this (and yes I'm relaxed too) while I'm just REALLY ALARMED?? like this seems really scary...with the dress code and how strict this school seems. also the journal seems sketchy...and what did sleepy say at 18:20? idk...i wonder if this fits into the other semi-connected roleplays
frrr I was surprised by everyone acting like this was the perfect school counselor all while Im fighting my fight or flight response. I do have issues with authority lmao
As always you give the viewers positive energy. I love it and thank you for your hard work. Please keep it positive no matter how bad it can be. Love you and your content!❤️❤️❤️
Interesting storytelling on both characters. Sounds like the counsellor needs some help too. The notebook is usually a good way for them to spy into your head so that was a good touch. Liked this one. The dark undertones were subtle.
Wish my school counselor actually cared I’ve seen her like twice ever and they were both for the same reason I didn’t even know we had a school counselor until this year
Ahh yes getting back into the back to school spirit (guidance counselors being vaguely threatening and interrogating). But thank you sleepy for providing a relaxing experience to a normally threatening one
Sleepy as counselor: sweet, smiley, gentle, looks at you. Every other counselor: "meh, you kids are delinquents. It's all this stupid media/videogame/social media/music's fault".
My counselor got mad at me bcs of another teachers announcement she had to tell us. (Picked very specifically) and i missed the competition i REALLY wanted to participate in. I had been talking about it all month. She also heard me.
Gotta say, I’m so glad you post when you do. I’m currently studying abroad in Japan so it’s currently sleep time here. Gonna sleep good tonight! As always thanks for the video!
Loved this video, I might have had a better time in school had there been someone like this. Also the Slavoj Žižek reference was unexpected but appreciated
Hii I love this video your voice is just really calming also the bangs thing and the cuffs on the shirt is way to much of a dress code and don't forget about the buttons
Sleepy being cute as always with her sweet and soothing presence!☺️ I’ve never been to the counselor’s before, but this is how’d I like to imagine them be.
I remember getting sent to a counselor after a group meeting at my boarding school where they tried to begin a dress code, I said that I remembered another guy who wanted to enforce a dress code with kids, but that I didn't remember his reasons considering all his speeches were in german
this put me in fight or flight while simultaneously making me tingle 😂 i swear I'm having flashbacks and I've been out of high school for 12 years! especially when we started talking about all the crap administration wants me to do and the dress code violations. Administration can eat my arse 😎
I don't think any School Counselor has ever asked me anything before, at least as far as I remember, or at least I don't remember talking to one in high school. Honestly I think I was always a disciplined student, I didn't like getting into trouble (yes, I was the nerd at my school xd). Even so, the proposal for this ASMR seemed interesting to me, so super nice work, Sleepy 🎉✨🌙☕
A few years ago, I had a section leader that rewarded me for doing really well in band practice and so I always tried my best. Maybe if you're doing a guidance counselor role play, you can do a section leader one too!
man i feel terrible for everyone with a bad counselor here :( i had a counselor in elementary + middle school who i was very close with. ironically she knew my mum when she was my age and went to the same school as her, which was a state away out of my three therapists, who all quit by the way, she was the only one who'd ever genuinely helped me and i'm extremely grateful for that. and it wasn't for money, it was because she genuinely cared she was always a very lovely lady. in elementary + 6th i'd paint things for her, give her random mints i'd have bought from the store, write cards to her, and she'd always keep them all on her desk 💛
where was this counselor when I was in high school?? I talked to mine about how I was having troubles with my teacher and she told me I needed to buy a planner... like no girl, she called me out in front of the class as supposedly lazy because I asked to use the washroom. I don't think a planner is the solution 😭😭
Unrealistic, there is no time for anything except band. (I did actually have a talk with a chill counselor not too dissimilar from this in my sophomore year 😅)
Hey uh, is this video extremely quiet? Asmr always is somewhat silent, but this video made me crank the volume of my 14w speakers to 100. I usually never go above 30. Out of curiosity I opened a song on spotify and I had a jump scare.
I remember when i got my tattoo when I was 16 and the school counselor said "tattoos wont slove your problems just make you look cooler" it killed me for some reason 😭
These videos need to not come out on Monday Straight to traumatic memories from HS.. And conversations with HR about why I thought that "joke" was "funny"
We are as Sagan said, just stardust, which is a poetic yet scientific way to describe our origins. The atoms that make up every cell and the fluids in our bodies were once part of ancient stars. Every photon, neutron, and electron, was once inside the fiery crucible of a star. The essential materials violently belched out by stars eventually coalesced to form new stars and planets, including our home, the planet Earth. Who knows if some alien race lost their netflix for a week or were sumarly annihilated after a brief, very deep sun tanning. Some stars exploded into the unimaginable spectacle of a supernovae, which then scatters their enriched guts across the cosmos. Probably most of the materials, gas and dust, is just regular emissions from a star's active nuclear fusion processes expelling surface naterials as regularly as we notice the seasons change. Even the seasons are the result of Earth's location in its orbit around the Sun, its axial tilt, and the light that reaches the surface of the planet's ocean and little bits of mantle crust we call land. The energy used to power nearly if not all of the known processes of life on Earth originates from our own star, which some of us call the Sun. Some of us worship this roiling ball of gas as a God, the life giver, though prolongued exposure to those high energy particals and radiation can have deliterious effects on our fragile physiology. Plants harness solar energy through a process called photosynthesis to grow and produce their own food which, some of it we have found or evolved to consume directly as food, or through clever processing make foods and many other products. The biological process of photosynthesis transforms solar radiation into carbohydrate surgars which some plant cells store to burn later as chemical energy and who's byproducts can be used to create new materials. These materials can be incorporated into the bodies of living creatures, which are then passed up the food chain to other forms of life and eventually to us humans. Thus most if not all of the matter we consume is essentially recycled star stuff converted to useful materials using solar energy. These materials are composed of elements like carbon, oxygen and nitrogen that were forged in the bellies of massive distant stars. Then blown around on currents of the surf generated by gargantuan stellar explosions after millions to billions of years of nuclear fusion processes. Our technological achievements are also a testament to the potential of stardust and solar radiation. Computers and machines are built from metals and minerals extracted from the Earth's crust, which owes its existence to stellar processes. The energy that fuels these devices can be traced back to the Sun as well. Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, while batteries store this energy for later use. Comparing sugar and lithium-ion batteries illustrates how different and many, practical forms of energy storage can be. Sugar molecules store chemical energy that living organisms can readily use in their essential biological processes, while lithium-ion batteries store electrical potential energy for use in our many electronic devices. Both are modern manifestations of the energy of fusion within ancient stars. Petrochemicals provide another link between past life and present technology. Ancient organisms, after living their lives, settled into Earth's crust and transformed over eons into oil and gas deposits. These fossil fuels are now tapped to create a plethora of products, from plastics to pharmaceuticals, or burned directly through various means to release their stored energy. This energy, as heat, can be converted into mechnical energy in generators by generating steam which can be used to mechnically spin turbins. This mechanical energy can then be used in all manner of machines to do work or generate more energy. In essence, there is little difference between us and the machines we create; both are products of stardust and solar energy, shaped by human ingenuity into forms that serve our needs and desires. And then there are the weapons we have created based on the curiosity of a select few very clever individuals who meant, probably, for their efforts to benefit us all. Which in truth they have been if you consider the number of active nuclearn reactors versus the number of weapons of the type that could destroy cities and ruin nations. Radioactive elements in use today were created in stellar processes and can also be created and refined and enriched in industrial processes. Either to power cities or sit in deterence stockpiles never to be actived and used against the leaders of a nation's enemies (which may not be the enemies of the people on either side). The processes we've learned to hardnessed by converting matter back into energy ultimately may result into everything we know being destroyed, returning it to fundamental energy and atoms once created and then ejected by a star.
