I'm glad you're feeling better! I love shepherd's pie too, I make it with lentils instead of meat. Also, Nat's little wave was adorable. After this series, maybe you could make a series about meals you have fond memories of (like what y'all ate on your first date, favorite childhood meal etc)? I'd love to hear the story behind them
Nice to have you back OFG....the shephards pie, well its really cottage pie when made with beef looks great. Its about how I remember it, our school used it as left over cottage pie and threw in everything from left over roast beef & veg to sausages. My favourite was always the crispy bits. Yum...
So so glad you are back and feeling better, even more glad that your burn has healed.Must admit when you did it I screamed simply because I did the exact same thing but stupidly I was moving a chip pan full of burning oil.I used a tea towel and just as yours did it caught on the cooker part.My son came running in as I screamed and with a look of horror on my face I said old food guy has just burnt himself the same way that I did.God I was so worried for you as nothing hurts like a deep burn I subsequently kept my eye on your arm so so happy that unlike me you did not need a skin graft, you must take care we all think such a lot of you and Natt x
When I do some more recipes from the book, I am just gunna add salt & pepper even if it doesn't say to. It's just like the NHS recipes, can't enjoy them without proper seasoning. You did a great job of it Keith. Looked yummy 😋 👍
Keith this took me back to when I was a kid we lived just down the street from both the infant and junior schools 1 at each end of the street. I used to beg my mam to let me stay for school dinners at our junior school coz the smell of the dinners was lush. She gave in EVENTUALLY 🤣🤣😋
I love Sheppards pie and yours looks brilliant! Save me some! Can’t wait for you guys to get merchandise so we can represent you guys! Love you both! ♥️
An all time classic. Brilliant vlog and great to see you back especially in your new #teamctb t-shirt as chris & lou are brilliant just like you and Nat 👍

Keith glad you're feeling loads better did l miss live my phone only just got alert that shepherd's pie looked delicious that's one of my favourites, Keith maybe they didn't add salt as everyone don't add to cooking l do im a lover especially with fish chips the T-shirt looked spot on in quality and size sending Nat love too now l fancy shepherd's pie, ♥️😋😋😋
Didn't look too bad at all that mate! Quite a healthy Shepherds Pie 👍.. And talking about T shirts, are we gonna get some merch from you and Nat soon? All the best to you both 👍👍
Got to admit I didn’t stay for school dinners as I only liked the puddings, so I used to go home for lunch, which was great for me as my mum did what I liked. My sisters all stayed for school dinners. Wasn’t till I went to high school that I stayed for dinners as you had a lot more choice. Get a some seasoning on the shepards pie and it will be great for tea for all the family.😀😀
Welcome back to the cooking Keith.. lovely to see you and the delicious Nat back cooking. Just an idea, when you are doing the school dinners, you could make 2 dishes.. do like youbdid today, school dinner recipe for Shepherds pie, but also do YOUR version, which today would have included salt, cheesey mash, butter in the mash, maybe a thicker gravy. Dont know how you usually make it, but Onfor one would cool the meat and stock for at least 45 mins, adding carrots, onions, peas and sweetcorn. Let the mix cool down, add the tatties, cook until golden brown, then serve with extra gravy! I don't remember school Shepherds pie having huge chunks of carrots either, like yours did!! Anyway, glad you're feeling better again, as we have missed you both!!
That looked alright in the end, I have this book I need to have a go myself. I will go back and watch the other vids you have done in this series 👍🏻 great merch, I thought it was going to be your own though haha
When I do mash Keith I melt the butter in the microwave & also warm the milk I add to mash potatoes before I mash them they are lovely & creamy 😋 just a little tip keith
Shepherd's pie now your talking, we always have worcestershire sauce in it like you did, but we normally put more in and even a bit of Cholula sauce, but I know you have to keep to the ingredients as per the school dinner vibe 👍
I remember school dinners being tasty because they had mothers in the school kitchens but the government said stop cooking like your mum does as there is too much salt and pepper added 😂🤦🏼♀️ We we’re doomed after that. Thankfully I was out of school by then and I dread to think who wrote that book and what is to follow 🤷♀️ Nice shout out for Chris 👍🏼❤️
That looks absolutely yummy thanks for sharing BTW have u a po box I would like to send u something in post if I can I'm glad your better sending love to Nat also your both amazing don't let anyone else say different love always guys🥰
We're howling laughing at the CTB merch reveal, you and me are t-shirt buddies now 🤣 Get your own ones sorted and we'll buy some! Glad this one was better than the last couple at least 😁
I know you’re following the recipes for school dinners to a T. I’d like to share what I do when I make potatoes. Before mashing (and after draining), I sprinkle semolina in the potatoes, then add butter and mash. Semolina gives the spuds some oomph, like a little kick. Same with the roasties; after draining and before jiggling them in the pan, sprinkle some semolina in - then jiggle them. I don’t use use oil at that stage, that’s just in the roasting pan. The semolina gives a nice little hit and gives a little extra crispness. If you’re interested, semolina comes in a box packet (not the tin 😆) and is normally found in the baking isle around the pudding rice, ground almonds, etc.. Great trip down memory lane, get well and rest when necessary 🤗
Pleased your feeling better pal. Shepherd's pie looked bloody lovely 👍. Hope Nat's doing well and sorry to hear about the abuse she had received on her channel. The little coward's.
That Shepherd's pie looked lovely, Keith! I was surprised you said it was bland with two tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce. I put less stock in mine, the whole tin of toms and a can of Branston beans, sometimes a few peas, too. Do you ever make lasagne?
If these vids get less views than usual I would suggest making the thumbnail an image of the finished product, and making the title the dish name first, and the school dinners bit second. Only if though. Not sure how your metrics are looking but just thinking what appeals to me personally. But obviously some other styles appeal to other viewers, so as Johnny Rotten would say "I could be wrong I could be right". Pleased to see you folks are doing Ok!
