They look like ordinary pants to me... How TF is she supposed to go to school if she gets dress coded for every one of her pants?

I think that the problem is not in the clothes but the fact that they sexualise it.... what she was wearing was totally fine.... it is so sad this whole clothing rule system

My school dress code: Girls: don’t wear rips above the knee, no shorts above the knee, only closed toed shoes, always wear a tank top, no shoulders showing, not tight clothes, shirts can not go above about an inch under your belly button.. Boys: don’t come to school naked, don’t come to school with out a shirt.

I got dress code for wearing a dress so the lady sent me down to the office, where two women came out and measured my dress then they where going back and forth about how to measure the height, below or above the knee even though the rules says above the knee, and it was also at my finger tips so I was not doing anything wrong, after that they let me go cause they had nothing to complain about so I packed walked out and walked right past the lady who sent me and looked right at her then smiled while she stared and went to class. After that I made it my goal in life to wear that dress and others like it when ever I could just to piss of that lady. She now works at my brothers school so when I drop him off at the office I always smile right at her. I can't help being petty it's who I am.🤷‍♀️

dress codes in 2020: no shirts with sleeves, patterns or cloth no pants with holes (for legs or waist), color or cloth no socks cuz they're too tight no shoes that fit no hats that stay on your head no coats that keep you warm no hair because it fits too tightly on your head

If the school is obsessed with dress code why not interduce a school uniform then that would solve the problem.

I’ll never forget there was a girl near me in the library in high school and she was wearing a see thru top with nothing but nipple pasties under. The assistant principal walks in and writes me up and sends me to the principal for being out of dress code.. I was wearing a large men’s shirt and jeans with sneakers.

Our school forces us to wear this skirt that reaches up to mid-thigh and let us wear knee socks. The problem is, there is this teacher that keeps staring at our skirts. It's really uncomfortable especially when it's time to go home and perverts catcall us amd we have to pull our knee socks till it covers our legs but it's hard because if we bend down, our butts are gonna show (we wear safety shorts). It's just frustrating.

So they are basically implying that her pants are "distracting" and do not give anything "positive" to her education? The fact that they at telling her that her fucking jeans are too tight is just insanely dumb. They are a pair of basic jeans! Every girl has a pair!

My school only has one rule under the dress code section of the handbook. "Remove hood when entering the building".

I totally feel their frustration. I never wore anything too low or high cut or "sexy" in school. I was very modest. I once got a warning cus my skirt was like half an inch too short for one of the female teachers who noticed my outfit. I pulled it down a bit and it was fine.....I went to math class later that day with a girl who often wore tops where half her boobs were popping out plus cleavage.... She never to my knowledge ever got crap from any of the teachers for it. Not enough to stop her from wearing stuff like that so often. And it was OFTEN. Spend your energy on the students with SERIOUS dress code violations and not the ones trying to follow the rules and get dumped on for very minor issues.

This is stupid. Teachers and principals think that girl's shoulder or knees are too distracting for boys, so they take them out of class which takes time from their/our education. We are at school to LEARN not be shamed for our choice in clothing.

I go to South Vermillion in Indiana and we have received an A+ at both middle school and high school. The dress code is both relaxed AND equal. You don't have to be insanely strict to get good results. A little trust goes a long way

In Sweden you can wear what ever you want and we don't have a dress code. Nobody gets distracted and we get a good education even if somebody wears tight jeans

l understand her problem because in PE I was told to put a jacket on because my shirt showed to much but the dress code said 2 fingers and it was 3. Plus I had to run in sweat pants and a jacket. Are you inforceing rules or giving me heat stroke?

My school has 2 sections of dress code; one for boys and one for girls. *the boys side states*: no hats, hoods, shorts have to go past your finger tips, and you must not show your belly button. *the girls side states*: no hoods or hats, shoulders mustn't be seen, you must not show your belly button, shorts have to go past your fingertips, no tight pants such as yoga pants or skinny jeans no tight shirts, no spaghetti strapped tank tops, no open toes shoes worn without socks, no open-back dresses or shirts, sleeves must be at least an inch. but yea. keep complaining about how girls just want to dress like "sluts" now.

Shorts and skorts need to have at least a 3 1/2 inch inseam. The length of skirts and dresses should fall at mid-thigh. The following are prohibited: • Excessively tight clothing. • See-through clothing, halter/tube tops, clothing (short shirts or low cut pants/shorts) that allows the bare mid-section to be seen while standing or sitting • Spaghetti strap tops and low cut shirts • Any clothing that covers any part of the head (hats, hoods, bandanas, etc.), backpacks, and sunglasses, except in designated areas. • Clothing with profane language, gestures, or messages • Pictures, symbols, writing that highlight alcohol, tobacco, weapons, or any other illegal substances. • “Double meanings,” such as concert tee shirts depicting illegal or anti-social behavior. The last four rules are completely acceptable, but the rules preventing you from showing your bra straps, stomach and back, are not. I go to a school where the visibility of my bra straps is more important than my education. Sending a student to the office to change clothes is basically stating that their education doesn’t matter as much as the other students who said student is “distracting.” Which is discriminatory, no matter what gender that said student is. Saying that girls need to hide their bra straps, and their stomachs make them feel like they are being body shamed, which they are. Girls (and boys) of all ages should feel comfortable in their own skin, and not feel forced to hide it. You, the staff, are teaching students that girls have to hide their bodies, instead of teaching boys to respect women. This dress code has an underlying sexist foundation, and it has to stop. Not only being discriminatory, it is an insult to boys, saying that they cannot go through class without getting distracted by a bra strap. I, and many other students, feel the dress code should be changed, or at least re-considered.

Next they'll ban anything showing ankles. TOO SINFUL.

my school says you can't wear shorts unless they reach your knees and there is no such thing as shorts in women's size that reaches your knees those are called capris so of course every girl wears pants at my school even on the hottest days and on a really really hot day and girl wearing pants has already gotten a heat stroke on school grounds also apparently you can't "expose your shoulders" because apparently my school considers shoulders as a private part so of course we're not aloud to wear tank tops

These videos make me so greatful for my school, they allow tight pants, as long as they aren’t see through enouh to see underwear, and crop tops are allowed, as long as they dont go above the belly button. Off the shoulder shirts dont matter, and bras can be visible, as long as there is a shirt or tank top over it. ive taken advantage of this and worn a grey tank top with a mesh/see throuh top, and it wasnt a dress code violation? lmao

more things to worry about than the stupid dress code

This is an instance of school rules taken to extreme. (Like the 6 year being suspended over eating a poptart into a gun). If the administrators want their rules to be followed than the restrictions have to make sense. This young lady apparently was dressed appropriately and conservatively (for our culture) and it is shame she is being punished.

This girls problem is the same as mine I am very slim and I am in size 16 and I'm only 11 so it is very hard for my mom to buy me pants that are long enough and still slim enough 🙄🙄 what has happened to these schools

About a week ago my highschool had picture day. We all walked into the auditorium and the moment I stepped up to hand in my money they said I couldn't take pictures. You know why? It's because my SHOULDERS were showing. I didn't have a jacket or spare shirt on hand so they offered me DIRTY spare GYM CLOTHES. It wasn't just me, at least two or three other girls weren't allowed to take pictures. Only one girl could, she was wearing a modest shirt, showing the shoulders but covering the collar bones and the base of her neck. They made her put on a big north face jacket, zipped all the way up to cover the shirt. Please like and reply to this comment if you've had a similar experience

This is why I hate dress codes. Tons of schools claim that if a girl wears short shorts or skinny jeans/leggings, it’s gonna “distract” the boys. I’ll wear what I like! Instead of shaming girls for our bodies/clothes, teach boys that girls aren’t sexual objects!

This has been a problem for so long. I'm super tall and when I was in 7th grade I was already 5'8" and got in trouble for a short skirt because its SO hard to find clothes that fit when you are that tall at that age!

The school policy is stupid, don't get me wrong, but that excuse that "she's skinny and petite so it's hard to find clothes that fit her and fit the policy" doesn't wash with me when you clearly specifically buy skinny jeans, which are designed to be form-fitting. Jeans usually are tight. Although the female classmates might be controlled by a dress code, but in reality, the female teachers, especially attractive and young ones, were also just as much of a distraction as any girl in our school.

Listen up y’all, I’m a girl. And one time I got dress coded. 5TH GRADE, what I was wearing was leggings and a crop top. The crop top wasn’t that short and it was covering my stomach. While we were going to art. My female teacher said to me. “Your outfit is so revealing” I was weirded out and uncomfortable with her saying that to me. She was like “do I need to send u to the nurses office for that outfit?” I was like …… ummm BERY UNCOMFORTABLE. and guess what she did whenever I walked into art. It was like she was gossiping to the art teacher about my outfit. And I was FURIOUS that one of my favorite teachers would do that to me. ITS NOT THE GIRLS FAULT THAT BOYS CANT KEEP IT IN THEIR PANTS ! ITS UNFAIR AND SEXIST. next time that happens to me I will tell that teacher my feelings. Girls should do the same. You are NOT in the wrong. They are. Love u girls and boys stay strong don’t let teacher do that to you!

I’ve had a similar problem before and it made me so pissed at the school
