I always imagined the 2nd film like this. Jack is picking up pictures of the school of rock and remembering all the battle of the bands they won. He talks to Ned about them and they both miss everyone. It all came to an end because No Vacancy finally won. After their loss, Freddy blamed Zack for his 'lack of style in guitar'. Lawrence blamed Katie for being 'out of sync'. All the singers blamed each other for not getting to the right tone and they all break up. Years later they finally find each other and come back (for the band, because they are still good despite all the Years or to settle differences that needed settling a long time ago) They work on it together and realise something. Despite all the Years. They still rock and they can still KICK SOME ASS. No Vacancy hears that School of Rock are coming back together so when the band celebrates their reunion in a bar. No Vacany find their instruments and destroys them. All hope is lost and Jack feels sad and walks in the streets late at night thinking the School of Rock will never get back together. Ned runs up to him. Jack replies "Dude it's over, u were right. We can blame it all on bad luck, but in the end maybe we weren't just that good" Ned takes him somewhere. A mansion. Jack is really confused and coming down the stairs is Sarah Silverman. She says she wants to fund the band and their instruments. Jack thanks her and everyone rocks on again. They get to battle of the bands. No Vacancy thought they won but they get shocked because School of Rock return after years. They put on a kick ass show and win once again. They go to their favourite bar and once again celebrate with a picture being taken with the caption; You can't stop the School of Rock Jack picks up this picture and smiles with Ned. Jack visits the garage they were all practicing in alone and gives one last "Long way to the top" The end.
"It was called rock 'n roll, but guess what, oh no, the Man ruined that, too, with a little thing called MTV! " - Guess who owned 51% of MTV? Non other than Robert Maxwell - father of Ghislane.
nice to see her looking happy back with the band after all the trauma Rivkah Reyes went through after making the film and being over sexualised by people whilst she was still a child, I had a work colleague who would constantly go on about "how fit she'll be when she's older" which I always found quite disturbing but turns out he wasn't the only one and it had quite a damaging effect (worth a Google if anyone wants more context)
They should make a sequel like they grown up and disbanded, but the guitarrist has to reunite everyone and they together go after Jack cause he became lost and a homeless... there we go Hollywood a good movie premise for ya... haha
Oh damn that's a factoid I didn't expect. Randomly had this song stuck in my head, go to listen on YT, get hit with the headline: SCHOOL OF ROCK DRUMMER DEAD. Killed while biking.
I feel sorry for anybody who doesn't connect with this movie, cast, and the fact that they had a reunion and you can still see the chemistry. And we were there. Good times!
+ChadWithaJ It's also cool see that they still got it (for the most part). Rather solid performance and the song is rather good. That movie is such a good tribute for rock. I've since seeing he movie back then dubbed Jack Black as the ambassador/herald of rock and roll.
Came here after hearing that Kevin Clark (Freddy/Spazzy McGee) passed away after being hit by a car :( RIP champ, you were a great and passionate drummer, taken too soon!
You can tell Jack loves playing with them. He has definitely invited over the drummer, guitarist, and bassist for private sessions. The chemistry is crazy!
The keyboardist is back in a dark corner. Not easy to get a good shot of him unless Jack Black gets out of the way. Even when he is seen (in another video from this same performance), it's so dark he can't be seen well. You may also have missed the fact that Miranda Cosgrove was in there -- she's in such deep shadows that you can barely see her. She's behind "Zack", on the left side. Only so much you can do in a club setting using only the club's lighting. Been there.
I seriously wish they would make a sequel, they'd all be in college or maybe just graduated at different places, they aren't interested at first, or maybe have lost their interest in music or something... then reunite because of something, then they'd go on a show and rock HARDER! Oh and actually win this time. That would be a kickass movie.
Graduates of Rock... the premise is EXACTLY what we just witnessed on the screen. Dewey Finn.... slightly more successful musician and has had his spots on center stage with a few small time bands but nothing spectacular and eaches guitar lessons on the side, lives in his same dinky apartment (though updated because like I said "slightly more successful). His room mate has since moved on from Dewey, finally took the last leap into adulthood and marries Patty as a successful music teacher, and has drifted apart from Miss Mullins and the band. Dewey wakes up one day, looks at a photo of Ned and Patty on their wedding day, and then looks at himself in the mirror and realizing what a "loser" he still is....He puts on an old recording of one of the bands songs and has a revelation.... "I gotta get the band back together!" He calls up Ned and tells him his new revelation and gets shot down and told it's a ridiculous idea and that it will never work... but Dewey proves them wrong and contacts the rest of the band... all of the band has moved on with their lives (aside from Summer who is a very successful manager for No Vacancy who has reached ultimate stardom) and are hesitant at first to join but eventually get talked into one by one.... eventually putting on the greatest rock show of all time, dethroning No Vacancy..... BOOM! MINDBLOW!!!
If you know anybody who could get in touch with any producers of the show, or the directors, anything, i will be MORE than happy to write the script, hell even if it were a fan film just give me the funding and I will do it!
Bryan Bello actually got her number from my phone book back in 06 cus she lived in my county, called her a bunch of times made myself look like an idiot..
I owe so much to this cast and this movie. It taught me to follow my dreams and not be held up by the pressure that exists within our public school system and societal standards of the ideal person. It's thanks to this film and this amazing group of musicians and actors that I made the choice to pursue music and do what I love as a career and I could not be happier. I don't know if Jack or any of the other actors or writers of the film are going to see this but if any of them are reading this I want to say thank you. This was a very influential film in my life and I hate to think where I'd be if it weren't for them putting their art and talents into the world
man i was thinking the exactly same thing from the first time i saw the movie, i was like this girl is gonna gonna be fiiiine one day :D also love the movie ive seen it so many times... and also they should tour the world i would totally pay to see them play just this song... and maybe that youre not hardcore song as an encore :) too bad jb didnt use those ten years practicing shredding his guitar, he might have been able to actually play his solo...
