In 7th grade, we were going to Catalina Island. We drove 6 hours to get to the boat. The teachers knew that a storm was coming but decided to go anyway. We got caught in the storm and the boat nearly capsized. 70 of 75 kids ended up throwing up. WE NEVER EVEN MADE IT TO CATALINA!!! A few kids saw the island when our teachers and the captain decided to turn the boat back around. This was supposed to be a 2 hour boat ride. WE WERE ON THIS BOAT FOR 5 HOURS!!! They put us in an aquarium for 6 hours after this because APPARENTLY THE BUS DRIVERS NEED A CERTAIN AMONT OF REST BEFORE DRIVING AGAIN!!!! We drove the 6 hours back to the school and got back at 2 in the morning the next day. We had a few kids in therapy and everyone was extremely traumatized. That was my craziest field trip I’ve ever been on.
My dad was a chaperone a few years ago. During our lunch break, he snuck out and bought popcorn for me and my friends (mostly me tho). Everybody thought he was so cool! lol i love him :)
We went to the graveyard for a field trip, for history class. Our teacher knew all sorts of local history of our city so he told us about the history of well known families in town, etc... as we went by their plots. There are also a bunch of statue/monument-like gravestones, both for families and for those that died in historical events like the world wars, etc... Was actually a pretty cool trip even though I walked through that graveyard every day on the way home from school anyway.
To be fair, the first example (after yours, of course) sounds partway like a good (or at least specious) idea for teaching children how to process loss.
We went to a school trip to learn and stare at the trash (Some students couldn't breathe because it was stinky, I was one of them so we just walked away (the students who couldn't resist the smell) and (plot twist) *the president of the city was with us*
My teacher never took us anywhere, but she did leave us and went to McDonald’s. This was middle school. She took orders from the ones who had money. After she left, the class went wild. Students left and started going crazy causing a real scene. Needless to say, teacher got busted.
Once my school sent an email that we were travelling to Folkston if that is even a place. It was just for fun for us so we went to school they had canned food, I HATE canned food.They had luggages and bags filled with clothes and the class room was empty! We were packing our stuff and went to the playground and guess what we had to run laps and then we stopped , the teachers said... Welcome to your new home! There was NOTHING in front of us! We had to run laps for nothin!🤨😂
5:51 In Louisiana, we also went to a cotton farm AND a sugar cane farm to 'harvest' some of each ( I say 'harvest' as we just picked a few, not enough to worry about, but enough to take back home as souvenirs of out trip) it was for a elementary trip that let us experience how both solo farmers and slaves spent their daily lives (we also got to see the slave homes that were being kept by the historical society, specifically the Slavery Awareness Society) AND because they were staple crops for our state for hundreds of years... it was a twofer for history. how farmer and slaves lived AND about our States economic history... To this day, I think it was an eye opening trip into our State's past and the role it and it's economy played in history and slavery
One time I was on a field trip to some sort of lake... And while I was swimming I saw some kid take ALL my money and my phone - So I immediately jumped out of the water and slammed this kid right in the face- Uh little did I know he was just moving my stuff for me, so it does not get wet 😭😭😭
In elementary school, the principal banned creamed cheese and sour cream because kids were taking it to the staff bathrooms and smearing it all over the sink and toilet seats. No idea why but yea

I had a trip when I was younger and it was far away and me and my friend went to the Bathroom and then we went he wrong way or whatever and we could not find he way back and it was ages until we found where the bus should have been but it wasnt there. THEY LEFT WITHOUT US. RUDE. So I called my mom cause she attended the same school and been on the same trip and knew where it was so she picked us up before some Police asked us which bus are we waiting for and why are we alone. Then we went to the school and my mom and her parents went to the school and started shouting at the teachers XD Me and my friend were secretly laughing

My teachers took us to DOLLYWOOD for fun 😂 when we were there I ate my friends fudge,balled my eyes out cause I hit my head on the rollercoaster seat 😂 and the teachers said “your fine” 😂
At camp it was my bus partner’s birthday and we went to a weird waterfall and I was expecting to have a good time jumping on the rocks and drinking my orange Fanta, but nobody was allowed to go into the water or drink anything fizzy so my friend had a very lame party with a terrible cake. After the party I fell into the water and had to change my clothes, it was so embarrassing since everyone, including my crush, was watching me as I rushed off to the unisex bathroom. Turns out, the door of the stall didn’t lock so the teacher had to stand outside, but then she left and I had to hold it closed as I struggled to pull on my jumper and sweatpants. It was very embarrassing since one of the older girls walked up to the stall and asked if anyone was in there. Edit: Thanks. This is the most likes I have ever had. Sorry for ‘begging’.

Lol my when I was in kindergarten, I got my toy taken away. The next day I asked for it and she said, you will get it at the end of the school year, you need to be patient! So then I waited till the end of the school year and asked and she said that i need to be patient and she will buy me one at the store and if I come next year I will get it. It was a toy car btw, and when first grade came around for me, I asked her for the car, then she said oh I forgot! I will give it to you when you are in second grade. So then when I reached second grade, I asked and she said I have to be patient. Then when I reached 4th grade, I asked her about it, then she said it’s been such a long time that she forgot, then she said I will give it to you tomorrow I promise! Then I asked again and she said she forgot. When I reached 5th grade, I asked for it and she told me to be patient. Then at the last day of school of my graduating to 6th grade, I decided to ask her one last time. Then she said she forgot and she will mail it to me. Then I said you know what, you get a 5,000 dollar paycheck every god fern month and you can’t spend 98 cents for a toy car from Walmart! I waited for Several years and you still telling me i gotta be patient. It was my favorite toy. But hey, at least I have some cars lol. Then she told me I was very rude.
