It definitely depends on the Bootcamp. The one I found is really good. Everyone had to work on their own personal project first and then if you choose to you can do a career Jumpstart where you are able to work for real companies to add work to your portfolio. Realistically job searching for UX design jobs will take you a little while. Companies want to see 3 portfolio pieces plus your full breakdown. I know in choosing a bootcamp I didn't want to break the bank number #1 and number #2 people really need to do extensive research because because there a plenty of bootcamps that talk a great game but they do not deliver.

Im also transitioning into tech from education. I'm thinking about going back to school but I already have a Masters in an education related field 😅 the struggle. As of now I'm taking some classes at a CC and seeing what happens. Welcome to LA! Im to the north in the burbs.

Hi Morgan! Great video! You mentioned having funding will help ease the financial burden. But what are the chances of getting to be a TA? Does everyone who applied get to do it? Is there a percentage of people?
@MorganChin
@MorganChin 2 года назад
Hey! I don’t know exact statistics but chances are pretty high. Most second years who want to TA end up getting an opportunity. People cycle in and out so opportunities pop up all the time!

I also didn't want to go back to college LOL! I didn't want no debt and I was very clear on that. But again everyone's path will definitely be different.

Yes for sure! For me I saved money Pre-school so I wouldn’t have debt and went to instate school!

Hey, firstly I wanna thank you for such a video! Can you give us a list of few good university's UX programs with funding opportunities ?
@MorganChin
@MorganChin 3 года назад
You are so welcome! I do not have a list like that, but my classmate Ruchita made an amazing spreadsheet with many many schools that have UX programs! This could be a good start. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Fag9e-rmmuTEcXg2iPCEQDOIp4A5T1fMHxu98ghte1k/htmlview#

I'd like to ask for your opinion. I've just finished my bachelor's degree on interior architecture and would like to switch path to UX design. Is it better to gain some work experience then do Master's or take the degree before work?
@MorganChin
@MorganChin 3 года назад
I’d say it depends on you. I stopped and worked first and it was invaluable experience and I think that was the reason I was able to be so successful. I needed that break. However, I did not work in a related field. Many of my classmates come straight from undergrad and they do great. Neither option affects your chances of getting into the HCI program one way or another. So I would say do whats best for you!

@MorganChin
@MorganChin 2 года назад
Oh yes there are so many… I couldn’t name them all. However, I will say do your research on the teachers, coursework, and alumni to make sure you aren’t wasting your money!
