THIS! I had an ex boyfriend who was physically, verbally and mentally abusive. Once we broke up he had the gall to get a restraining order against me just so he could look like the “good guy” and try to make me look as crazy as possible when I came back for my belongings and when he refused it made me cry little did I know he was filming me the whole time to show other people out of context. I did feel crazy after I got away but that’s because the manipulation was wearing off and I could finally see the truth. The smear campaign is still going strong years later and I feel like I literally have to PROVE my sanity around people who he knows

Yeah had one of those in my life at 19. My first serious grownup relationship, after 3 years I had enough but he wouldn't let go. He ran a pretty nasty smear campaign against me, he once drove 6 hours to meet up with a group I worked with as a student only to try and make life miserable for me. He told everyone I was still with him all the while telling people nasty lies about me . Twenty years later shortly after my husband's death he found me and contacted me. I was so disgusted, he knew where I lived and sent me messages to meet up, he was married with a kid by then. I told him I wasn't interested in seeing him and felt sorry for his wife. He would tell me what car I was driving etc. My husband and I were expats for 10 years, I only moved back after my husband's death and to a totally different town. It was really creepy and I felt very vulnerable living on my own not trusting him, he truly messed with me when we were a couple, I hated him. I went from a confident person to depressed and anxious because of him back when we were together, it took some time to gain confidence. Mentioning his wife everytime he contacted me helped, he backed off. I eventually sold my house and moved away and remarried, the only thing I learned from him was how to mistrust men.

Stop calling men like this alpha males. Its a serious misunderstanding of how wolf packs work. First of all, in a healthy wolf pack, there is the alpha male AND the alpha female & they guide, not rule, the pack together, & the word alpha is really from the Greek alphabet & doesn't mean tough, mean, etc. And if any wolf acted the way human men who call themselves alphas act, they would be exiled from the pack & forced to live alone.

Meanwhile, the statistics on male sexual abuse by women is outrageously high given the predominant image and info we are given. Many men who are abused or have been abused also need to be validated and any boy or man watching these videos and reading the comments also deserve to be SEEN and warned. Quite simply, letting people know it is all sexes that need to be careful doesn't hurt anyone, only helps. So they're going to do what they're going to do. Because the ONLY person they care about getting hurt is themselves. The entire legal system needs to let that sink in if they really are serious about protecting the rest of us. Too many (young & adult alike) are never given the tools to recognize abuse for what it is, so they end up justifying/excusing it, or are intimidated & unaware of what options are available to them for help. It's one of the most important life lessons, & not having that knowledge can put a person's (physical, sexual, emotional, psychological & financial) health/wellbeing at risk. The fear of being forbidden to see the person and making her parent(s) have a lesser opinion of that person are definitely a reason not to speak out. Having an open relationship with ones parents and parents having good, nurturing relationships themselves as examples of what to strive for is still often times not enough. They will grow to become worst. These laws that treat murderers as children should be reviewed. Anyone who commits pre-meditated murder is not a child. A child will be chilled by the thought of planning a murder. They should be heavily punished.

I’m so sick and tired of hearing “life sentence” only to be followed by “minimum 14 years”. 14 years is less than his age going in, certainly not a typical life span. He will kill another girl/woman if you let him out. His kind psychology will not change. Not ever. RIP 💔💗💗💔Rebecca

Schools desperately need to provide life skills and practical education on relationships of all types. Perhaps it would prepare young people to avoid the pitfalls of becoming so emotionally attached, at such a young age! I’m sorry for this family’s loss of Becca🧡🙏, and for Josh’s family. 🧡🙏 May his incarceration have included psychological therapy!

That may help with some things, but if you have a lousy life at home, like I did, problems can be pretty serious. It is a good idea, tho, and could help some kids a lot. If I understand it correctly, a narcissist, altho they act like a "know it all," is really very insecure inside. So Josh acted tough and in charge, but inside he probably had no self esteem. But it may have helped Becca realize that she was being treated very badly and the relationship was not worth it.

That type of personality trait doesn't have remorse. So, confessing to the murder of Rebecca definitely was calculated. I had a son-in-law that manipulated, threatened, abused, lied, controlled, stalked and has a low self esteem but surrounds himself with people who he can control. His family are totally on his 'team' and cannot see the damage he causes and believes all his lies. I fear that Rebecca's murderer will weasel his way out of jail ready to inflict his toxic self onto other unsuspecting people.

Man, I was an angry, angsty teen and there were times when I certainly wanted people in my life dead, but I never told anybody for fear that they would think I was serious. The more that I watch these true crime shows the more I realize no one would've thought anything of it. There's so much I could've gotten off my chest if only I'd just been able to trust somebody. I know that's not the point of this episode, but it was something that occurred to me whilst watching it.
