I started riding in 1977 considered myself very lucky to be involved in motocross ,58 now I still have 2 MX bikes .Many thanks to our parents great days.
Watching this took me right back.. I started about age 9 in 73/74.. Broke leg in 76.. Age 11.. Best 2 years of my life.. Glad I saw this video.. thanks
A bit before my time 85-92, I got up to the nationals having won 100cc at Kensworth+DSSC and 2nd Stevenage,SSC, great to see Chippenham and the chalk reminded me of a track around the M25 that was terrible in wet.
I like Mark Banks riding style just like riders from the 60's era very straight body . That was the fastest xr75 I bet his father done a bit of tuning to it .
It looks like this footage is from 1977 or 1978 . If so the RM 80 was the fastest around a track ( far better power band . The YZ 80 was the winner in a drag race . The XR 75 was decent on both yet couldn’t really hang . The riders here on Honda’s dominated due to skill , not ( stock ) performance. My stock assessment is dead-on for that year on stock bikes. I can still smell burning Bel-Ray Awesome memories
