It has always been challenging to understand Schubert in the very core of his existance back then. Modern musicology usually insist on claims of his bad selfconfidence, hard living conditions an unawareness of Viennese society of his bare presence. His musical legacy, on the other hand, does not reflect properly the stories pointing out he was misunderstood by his contemporaries. Schubert's lifespan covers almost entirely the most fruitful and the most important years of Beethoven's creativity, but his work resembles sophisticated expression of ripe romantic feelings, containing both the pianistic virtuosity and capacity for expanded musical forms. His contribution in the area of symphonic, chamber or vocal music prooves his solid, strong and creative potentials that very probably did not depend much of an external triggers. Despite having short and unfortunate life, he left us a great fortune of his numerous notes, brilliant works of music as a proof how pregnant might have been the artistic output of Austrian capital of the time.
