This dreamlike journey follows on from my album ‘Guéthary’ and celebrates music that speaks to the soul for eternity. The three pieces on this EP have a lot in common: first, the apparent simplicity of their harmonic language conceals great subtlety and emotional depth. Secondly, they shed a different light on the music of their composers: the solo piano works of Sibelius are rarely played, and I thought it would be interesting to present the text of Schubert’s famous song in a transcription for piano and cello (with the help of Aurélien Pascal). Not forgetting the tribute I wanted to pay to one of the most popular songs of the eighties (and ever since!), ‘Porque te vas’, here in an arrangement by Nicolas Worms with echoes of Chopin.
