The F-minor groove in the middle is sheer genius. This performance is stunning.

plaintive, tremulous cellos... slowly tugging at the heart strings. this performance is achingly lovely and languid yet oh so passionate. thank you.

I really like this interpretation. So very many ensembles rush through this movement, ignoring the importance of the deliberate pulse set forth by the pizzicato cello (not sure if it cello 1 or cello 2). Anyway, that cello part needs to be the driving force behind the flowing melody. It cries out for plenty of rubato, using much liberty with the ups and downs of that bass line. This ensemble understands this and nails it! THANKS!

This is Schubert.............nobody could write better music than that, and it is beautifully captured on this video.

This is beautiful .. Thanks ! FYI, Rudolf Steiner had some interesting things to say about the former incarnations of Schubert in his lectures on karma. I can pinpoint where if anyone is interested.

It was an answer to the guy or girl who said Vivaldi is even better Schubert. You're right, no need to compare. :-)

No se puede hacer comparaciones entre dos grandes. Vivieron diferente época, entre Vivaldi y Schubert hay 50 años de diferencia.

no offence but in Europe Vivaldi is considered elevator music compared to Schubert.
