I am more care about the C5 sunglass part. I have a C4 pro carbon, It is a good helmet but the sunglass is not anti fog. So it is not a good helmet for winter sunshine day. I have to wear my old gt air2 at winter time.
Do you know if they are going to make a basic model, without the Sena comms speakers and such? I prefer the Cardo system. Also what is the info if any on the drop down sun visor? Have they done anything to it regarding the fogging issue?
For now there will only be one type of the C5 helmet, but it is possible that both a "Basic" and a "Carbon" edition will be released in the future, depending on the success. Drop down sun visors rarely have anti-fog features, so I don't expect this lid to be any different.
It looks like a nice helmet. That sais, reviewers, such as yourself need to start denouncing the bullcrap comm units deals that Sena likes to make. I have a neotec 2 on the way, and I am NOT looking forward to the struggle of installing my Cardo system on it. If Sena wants to get more market shares from the competition, maybe, just maybe, they would be better off making better products, rather than trying to force helmet buyers into their brand through crappy deals. As for Shoei and Schuberth... come on!!! Your lids are fantastic!! Don't do this! Arai doesn't need to force one brand on comm systems to sell helmets! Neither do you!! STOP IT!!
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate your honesty! We won't denounce something that has proven to generally work well and is very convenient for many riders. It is true that these type of systems make it more difficult (or even less worthwhile) to install a universal comm unit, but it definitely not impossible.
Any idea if we can install any other communication system ( other than SC2 which seems will not be available soon in our market ) and still benefit from the pre installed Earphones/speakers
As far as I've been informed it should be possible to disconnect the speakers and use them with other compatible Sena systems, I gather this works for the mic as well.
I don’t suppose they provided ETA for US market? A couple of vendors here claim they have no idea-which seems odd. Also do you know if Schuberth will maintain the same safety standard as described for the US? Obviously this helmet would exceed DOT… We all know DOT is a joke..
I don't like it. Unlike the Cardo it's not waterproof and sounds tinny. The Cardo has JBL speakers give much better music playback if that's what you want. As an intercom Sena is ok but starting with the intercom and then discovering a few other issues I have with the C5 means that I am swapping it for a Shoei neotec2 with Cardo Packtalk Edge intercom.
