Ja has a daughter, when you have a kid there shouldn’t even be bringin up the “young” excuse he’s a grown man and when u do have a kid no matter what age u are your automatic adult
Having a kid doesn’t automatically make you any smarter or wiser. If he was a dumb ass kid when he got the girl pregnant he’ll still be a dumb ass kid when the babies born.
Schultz is 11:34 absolutely correct about the context of being seen with a gun. Gangsta rap is promoting everything wrong in our community, and the NBA wants nothing to do with it and our community should move the same way. No other community makes profit from the destruction trauma like us, and it's pitiful
Not true. the NBA has played hood rap and hood rappers and their songs all over promos. Now they have to deal with a absurd culture in crisis mode, and stupidity of this murder music.
But the NBA will license the music and bump it in every arena at every game and use it in promos They want to profit off the popularity of rap and pretend like they don't want it in there sport What ja did was stupid and wrong but they seem to pick and choose
23 is too old to be doing stuff like that, especially in this day and age where athletes like Ja ELITE grooming and advice from execs . You know who you are, and what you are. He’s not a child, he’s a grown ass man. 23 is a grown man, not a child. Period
He's not wrong. Plenty of people who got rich young and aren't disciplined blow through that money quickly. Hell, even people like A. Walker lost his entire career fortune making bad investments. It's not insane that Ja could just blow through all of that bankrolling his entire squad, family, himself, his eventual family, etc., especially when he's being this dumb with his decisions right now.
@@christopherpartin2389that has nothing to do with the contract, tf? You can’t out earn stupidity. If he makes it a habit to buy a private plane and like 50 Rolls Royce’s that’s not the NBA’s fault. That is a dumb take.
Allen Iverson blew through 200 million. Gave away 200k cars when friends said it looked nice, thousands a month on food, clothes, and restaurants for him and his entourage. He famously said he couldn't by a cheese burger.
@@nuanceatnoon I don't really understand your comment to my comment. I never said you could out-earn stupidity. Their point is that if all Ja earns his entire career is what he's earned now, he's badly mismanaged his potential future earnings. A player can absolutely blow through $190 mil during their lifetimes.
The same can be said for charla. Let a nigga say some big words and you think he’s smart, let another person say something you don’t agree with and their racist..
@@burneraccount6681 no. he's saying some bullshit. he never argues from the premise, only argues from his inclinations we can all see through that shit nobody said Kyle Rittenhouse was a kid
@@choppatool see THATS some bullshit. Ja Morant compared to Kyle Rittenhouse is bananas 😂 Al never said “he’s just a kid”, the point he kept driving home was that he feels he can keep getting away with the dumb shit is bc up until now he’s gotten a slap on the wrist for everything, which is true. by the end of the convo Charle countered his argument & the last thing Al said about the topic was, “you’re 100% right.” i believe y’all just hate on Al bc everyone else in the comments hates on Al. u niggas suck man 😂
Rittenhouse was literally a child. A legal minor. No children, no fame. Just a kid who did an action that turned him into a monster for the media and leftists with a hard on for gun control.
@@cortneyrogers8066 lol also most of the thing he listed where old strory nothing happen to him that guy just talking about ja all life now its only the gun story that people are crying for anyways sorry for my english i'm French we love ja morant ball her most entertaining player ⚡
I dont think AL is defending him but more of trying to give the possible perspective that Ja Motant could have. It’s not about defending him but understanding where he could be coming from.
It's not defending him, it's explaining why he keeps doing the same stupid BS. He said everytime he gave an example that he wasn't defending him, he said if the only consequences have been a slap on the wrist, he and anyone else not getting a real punishment would just keep doing their stupid actions thinking that this is the worst it's going to get.
Well then the perfect response and its the nail in the coffin for this whole crazy Ja Motant crazy BS is that if the contact he signed says that he needs to be on his best behavior (giving detail of what he can't be doing) and if he fucks up and will be reprimanded or in other words if you screw up your fired he has no argument there
It's not unconstitutional tho, ja isn't facing any criminal charges or anything. A morality clause exists and the contracts percent players from doing certain things like high risk activity. It's the cost of playing in the league and making millions.
Charlemagne has developed an annoying habit of tuning people out and stubbornly repeating his opinion during these conversations. He just will not relent or take the time to listen and understand someone else's perspective.
Here's a POV I haven't heard anyone speak on. I'm 23 years old and a marine. The majority of marines are 17-21. We have even STRICTER rules than the NBA and yes, a lot of people fuck it up and lose everything, especially at this age. But far more realize what they have and DONT risk it by doing what they want to do. If you didn't want to be a part of this system you wouldn't have signed up for it. I was a suburban kid who had a documentary made about him at age 16 for the racism I went through in high school. I had all sorts of opportunities stem from it and although I pursued them, I also pursued the street life and sold tons of weed and other things, bought guns and toted them, etc. I had multiple run ins with the law where I got off with a warning or slap on the wrist and didn't decide to keep going because I was lucky. I realized my luck would run out and I needed to change myself. So at 22 years of age before I fucked my life up for good. I enlisted and changed who I am as a person. Fuck Ja Morant he's a dumbass who needs to lose it all. Shit ain't fair and shit ain't sweet
@@burneraccount6681 all he should be doing if agreeing. Saying anything to try to make that bs okay is defending his actions. There’s no excuse for this idiot that’s making millions to play a game to be jeopardizing his future by waving a gun around on live. He’s not a rapper; he’s a professional ball player and he needs to act like it. It’s simple.
Charlemagne is the type of dude to just disagree even tho he agrees . This podcast between these guys won’t last , Andrew is going to get tired of working with such an annoying dude who can’t ever admit someone else is right
@@whybetrayerispoison5413 no the fuck it isn’t lmao I’ve been listening to Brilliant Idiots since 2015 and they started it in 2014. I genuinely have secondhand embarrassment for you, bruh 😂
Andrew is right. I have no issue with the gun itself, Charlemagne thinks it’s because of the gun, it’s not. I post myself with guns too, but the difference is he’s trying to act like a gangbanger, not being trained for self defense, it was a form of bragging like the gangsters do, not posing for a hunting picture
Ja is irresponsible. THATS what the problem is. The second time with a gun on IG, his friend was actually trying to protect his image and they weren’t doing anything illegal. Ja’s a dickhead, not a criminal or an idiot
Yup, it was on the oprah interview. He said that the NBA nowadays pays players for their potential not for the work they did. One good example is Zion Williamson, he hasn't even step on an NBA court and he already got all these sponsorships. But the Irony tho is that Nike paid Jordan for his potential, good thing he actually went above and beyond.
It's simple, anyone who knows gun safety and has been taught it from a young age they know not to wave a gun around, this is exactly what happens when they get a gun to look "cool" or gangster"
Guns don’t just go off from waving it around. You have to deliberately pull the trigger. Not defending dude but people that are under the impression that guns just “go off” are completely uneducated on the matter.
Charlemagne, the people holding their RIFLES in the Christmas card vs driving down the road waving their PISTOL around has a lot of differences. Rifles and Pistols have different laws...AND WE WONT EVEN GET INTO THAT. You are in a vehicle in public brandishing a pistol with no threat. Those other people, posing with a rifle in front of a Christmas tree....they are in the privacy of their own home. AND I WOULD BANK ON THOSE RIFLES NOT BE LOADED. PRIVATE VS PUBLIC. Uncle Cuck, its not a race card subject.
Schultz is so wrong here. If you don’t play the game you don’t get the game check. Suspensions cost NBA players money. The only exception is basketball related injury
Just for the record the gun can not “just go off”. Unless you aren’t practicing very basic and fundamental firearm safety rules, mainly….. “keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire”. These dudes never have their gun in a holster….. which is mind blowing and always have their finger on the trigger, waving the gun around. That’s why there is thousands of videos of dudes shooting the window out in their car, shooting themselves in the foot, shooting their homeboy sitting next to them. For a culture with firearms so ingrained, it’s crazy that firearms as used most recklessly in hip hop culture
That's not really how making all nba works he doesn't just make 40 million the second he makes an all nba team. When you make all nba you are just eligible for a super max which means the team can offer you more money than they would have been able to if the player didn't make all nba
No, they don't. They care about profit man stop lying to yourself it's just sad. If they did Texas would have literally ANY safety in place, no background checks or a mental health check so don't pull that BS.
Technically it is performance based because you gotta play good to be on a team but you gotta be great to get the bag fr. If not then you’re in free agency or not even in the league
Charlamagne is right, if whoever you work for says you can't do it best guess is to not do it lol. that is why some places does drug test or say "hey leave your gun at home!" all these other context being said is just personal. ja can do whatever he wants just dont fucking go live or get caught lol. but he is stupid enough to get caught more than once so if his boss wants to fire him they can simple as that.
people in their 20's are extremely short sighted because they are broke and don't have much to lose ja morant is an NBA superstar making hundreds of millions of dollars he isn't you typical 20 something year old and he has a lot to lose. Also I feel like people were extremely upset because of the way he was handling the gun if he posted on his story of him at a shooting range properly handling a gun and just shooting at targets not a single person would have cared but it's the way he was handling the gun was the issue to most people.
@@9BallBoryit’s clearly the largest influence over ja lol all the music he listens to has dudes with dreads pointing guns at cameras in the music videos. Now he’s the one with dreads pointing guns at the camera
My brain needs to be fully developed to understand flashing guns listening to kill nigga music is not a good thing Bruh you are making arguments for the Blacks have lower IQ's😂
It isn't about hip-hop necessarily with Ja's behavior but it's more so the "gangster mentality" that has surrounded hip-hop PLUS the fact that a dude that makes millions in the NBA is officially a dude that made it out. There's no logical reason for a guy of his stature and place in sports to display himself like that. Clear answer here, majority of the NBA doesn't go as far as Ja did with IG posts and his behaviors. Dame is a rapper, but he's not mindless and clearly seems of sound mind. It isn't hip-hop, it's the immature "gangster mentality" that has an association with hip-hop. Ja needs to come to the realization that whatever motivates him to act a savage on social media or whatever is rendered useless since his clout is rooted primarily in the greatness of a superstar in teh NBA.
The majority of NBA players are very responsible with their money and don't separate themselves from the guaranteed money. Ja Morant made a serious mistake and will have to pay the consequences. Why do we keep repeating about how stupid the action was? As long as he can GENERATE money for the teams and owners he will always have a good job in the NBA. Guaranteed.
We pick and choose so hard that nobody even knows what is right anymore. We celebrate murderers and punish people for making homophobic tweets. Stop glorifying violence and start shaming.
Charlamagne just sometimes difficult to argue with. If he gets his checks by the NBA and its the NBAs policy not to show guns well thats a system within the NBA that needs to change because owning a gun is legal.
I thought this was a bad point on Flagrant too. I know you are a stand up comic but almost everybody gets a weekly or bi weekly salary. This is how our economy works. It’s not at all unique to the NBA.
F Ja Morant. He should have been done after incident number two. I couldn’t even believe it happened twice. He could be so far away from the situation he puts himself wanting to be this fake gangster. It’s fine to like rap but it’s time for him to get real about his life. There’s cameras everywhere’s now your gonna get exposed for anything you do. Forget this dude…
just suspend him for a year and doc all his pay for the year too then people wouldn't be doing stuff like this when it means you could lose millions of millions. repeated offenses could be longer and have permanent percentage reductions of any contract that can be given to you in the future.
Fire him and make him live the life of a “normie”. He clearly doesn’t deserve the money or the position. Imagine how much they’re covering up for him. Anyone else would be fired from their much less influential job for the same thing.
@@deeznutz8320 And you're right. But I guess the Jewish labels write the lyrics too. We gotta stop acting like brothas and sistas aren't willingly selling their souls for the money. Just like CTG.
Flashing a gun the way he did, is classless, ghetto, and usually leads to or is a sign of unnecessary violence. It’s clear what people have a problem with. It’s an entitled thug who is encouraging younger and dumber thugs to follow in his footsteps. Like dumb thug rap music. Grow up.
