Here's a track from (Thom) Schuyler, (Fred) Knobloch, & (Paul) Overstreet. It reached #1 on the Billboard Country chart in 1987 (MTM 73081) and was one of three singles released from an album titled "S-K-O". This trio only released one album before Paul Overstreet left to pursue a solo career.

One of my all time favorite songs. What they call country today doesn't come close to songs like this. It's too bad this group didn't stay around long because they harmonized so well together.

Country went more CHRish in 1990's. The 1980's was more of a AC styled Country trend
@fordman2698
@fordman2698 5 лет назад
@@donmccullen1973 I never saw any CHR in 90s Country, but I agree with you that 80s and early-90s was more of an AC style. AC also kind of went CHRish in the 90s, so I could see how you think Country did the same. Personally, I like the Country/AC blend the best. Late-70's Country also had quite a bit of AC influence as well, eh?

There is so much good music held down by hollyweird that fails to meet up to their agenda. If you probe around RU-vid, you'll find some bands that will surprise you. Foxes & Fossils being one of those bands. Another group that I like that sounds like they come out of the late 60's with new and original music, called The Explorers Club.

My friend i do not know what to say?Things changed dramatically in the music scene the last seven years i do not want to open the radio,i hear only the old music (70s-80s & 90s)In 1982 -83-84 was very nice years in music and not only....since 1979 and until 1987,88 appeared in music very nice names with very good business (albums and songs)Αs for all those guys and girls who come out in recent years and they say they are artist and singers....better to go to wash dishes.

Great Song! Yeah I am probably one of the only people under 30 who likes 70s and 80s Country, but I think it is more relevant to how I feel in my life. I also like it because my dad and my late-grandpa used to play it in the truck a lot, and now I like classic Country probably more than my dad does. I miss the good old days when "today's Country" was actually good.It is disappointing to me that today's Country music is not in the same fashion as it used to be . . . I don't even know that I would call today's music "Country", it is more like a mix between Country and Rhap: Crap. Paul, we need you to put Country music back in order. Nobody, not even my mom, understands why I like the old stuff, but it is because I can relate to what those people are saying. I heard this song on a recording of Bob Kingsley's countdown from early-87, and I have listened to it over and over again since then.

I'm 25. I have listened to this old country since I was about 10 years old. My (great) grandfather is to thank for it. I am so glad and fortunate I was able to spend so much time with him as I was growing up and being exposed to the old sound of these awesome songs. They are SO underappreciated and most people don't even know this music exists. This particular era of mid to late 80's country is so unknown and not sought after. I honestly don't get it. This song is just one awesome example of what a great era it was.

Baby's been coming home wearing a smile Dressing up and buying all the latest styles She never looked better everyone agrees But when we get alone I know something's wrong And it's worrying me Baby's acting strange lately I think baby's got a new baby See through her disguise Something's in her eyes She's afraid to tell me Baby's coming home later Going places I would never take her Baby's got a new baby And it ain't me Baby's been talking bout a place of her own It's funny cause she never likes being alone Drifting and drifting farther apart while we sleep If I could read her mind Who would I find When she starts dreaming Baby's acting strange lately I think baby's got a new baby See through her disguise Something's in her eyes She's afraid to tell me Baby's coming home later Going places I would never take her Baby's got a new baby and it ain't me It ain't me that baby really loves It ain't me that baby's dreaming of Baby's acting strange lately I think baby's got a new baby See through her disguise Something's in her eyes She's afraid to tell me Baby's coming home later Going places I would never take her Baby's got a new baby And it ain't me
