I have nothing but respect for him. He has the courage to admit that it was a mistake without casting blame. He has shown repent, asked forgiveness and tried to be in the young boy's life, not only financially but with time and effort like a real father does. He is an incredibly ambitious and motivated man. To come to this country poor, not knowing the language and not having family here to support him and becoming a highly grossing movie star and successful politician is an undertaking of incredible magnitude. So yes, he cheated and was caught but I've never seen a turn around like this. I hope that in time he is forgiven, that his children give him the respect and love he deserves and they all go on to do good things in life. I was married to a coward who cheated on me, denied it, lied to his entire family. Finally when they saw the proof and he could no longer deflect he packed his car and left me for someone he had seen a handful of times. He allowed the bank to foreclose on our home and went into hiding. To this day he has not made peace with his children. Still lies and bends the facts, but hey, some people are just lousy human beings. So my respect to Schwarzenegger for being honest.
He is such a great actor, lifter, role model in so many ways. It hurts to hear about his family life being destroyed. Arnold is a true man for coming publicly on television and telling about how he was wrong for what he did and asking for forgiveness from everyone. What a sadness that came over me as I listened to this interview. May God bless this family to heal. Divorce is devastating when an incident of this magnitude happens so publicly. So sad for all of them, especially Maria and Arnold. He was very humble and forthright in this interview.

I dont think he ever stopped loving her or his children. He definitely cares about his kids. But what he couldnt do was just stay with her, he had to have more of everything, more money, more success and more women; its an ego thing that drove him to have what he has in the first place. Apparently, Arnold announced his running for CA governor to Maria the night before announcing it publicly at which she was highly upset bc it was not decided jointly. AS made the decisions and Maria was expected to subjugate her life around him, his egotistical needs, and his wants. It was all about him. Some think Arnold's marriage is a private matter, and that he doesn't have to answer these questions. Here he is promoting his book, and so the details are important. A.S. clearly can't answer for his four children on how they view Joseph, and that response was appropriately pulled off the table. No one is forcing Arnold to answer a question he doesn't want to answer. I think AS is still confused, and lives in a different reality than the other once "family" members...his footing may be precarious at best bc he resists counseling and is disinterested in changing. Does Arnold love Maria? He says he does, however, it's likely that AS never really loved her in the first place. He may have used her for her familial status.☮️

I love Arnold and he obviously made a huge mistake that he deeply regrets and he is going to have to live with it for the rest of his life. We all make mistakes in our lives. Cheating was wrong, period. I will give him credit for admitting it. And not divulging extra details during the interview that should be kept private for the sake of his family. I will never understand how someone can claim love for the spouse but then claim to love someone else at the same time. This "love" cannot be strong if cheating is even considered. As Jesus said, adultery can take place even if lusting happens only in one's mind. If the love is real and strong, as it should be, the very thought and possible action of adultery would be avoided at all costs.
Nah, she would 100% divorce if he had told her at any point especially since there was a child born from it. I don’t blame her for it as any person who cheats is someone you should separate from. Arnold deciding to keep it a secret is why their marriage lasted that long. If the kid didn’t look so much like Arnold he probably would have gotten away with it. Just the sheer similarity is what clued Maria in and made her confront the maid. I’m not sure why Arnold didn’t quietly arrange for the maid to retire with a large payout and maybe a new job elsewhere. He should have known it would blow up in his face at some point.
When I was in psychology class the teacher would say that If you don’t love your wife/lover/fiancé she will freak out and if you don’t love your man he will have fear of losing you. That’s one thing about Arnold was thinking about.

When someone goes to wrong place and have some idea that this isn't best choice, but goes there anyhow and is uncomfortable there, so decides to leave that place. that is a mistake. Person who made so many specific decisions, when coming to USA (being an actor, being republican,married female from top-then democratic family, etc., and did almost all, except some: none yet know) doesn't make "mistakes",. He just wasn't able to play movie role in his own life (family), as well as in films. I guess, because it was much too LONG. Yet I do believe that he is sorry now about it, and about many other of his decisions he have made. Only Arnold and his team know: how many times he and his team: used my creative work and words, for their "fame" and even election speech for Bush, based on my poem attached to my abstract painting (triptych), titled: "Coming to America", which I donated in 1985 to "Burn Center" in Miami, but they said that someone with heavy accent took those arts, and in about 2004 Arnold used my poem ("Coming to America") as part of his speech for Bush reelection., so I found out: who took my arts? First I learned Polish (family business: there), then Arnold's team took me to USA, where since very beginning (1978) I learned English and in USA I won multiple prices and awards (in: arts, designs, science and more, including TV'S), but as my Arts titled "Coming to America": almost all was stolen from me, except few articles in press. Why? He said: "because I refused to dance (that day I was just too tired to dance, not just with Arnold; thought his friend and my art-agent: forced me to one dance that day) with him on this fundraising ball in 1985, and I will be sorry". But this wasn't true reason of his team actions as I finally learned recently, but his family side: knew about TRUE REASON, since I was born. I guess this sounds STRANGE and UNBELIEVABLE, but it is SAD TRUTH. Sorry.
