After a long two-year absence due to Covid restrictions, Germany's beloved Oktoberfest retuned to Munich in late 2022. The star of the show (along with copious amounts of Deutsches bier) was, of course, Olympia Looping - the planet's largest transportable roller coaster.
My intent was to capture the ride's five 7-car trains in simultaneous operation. The result is a frantic three-minute glimpse of this marvel running at full-tilt. It's a pure joy to witness the chaotic, thundering ballet of five trains in constant motion.
Considered to be their masterpiece, Olympia Looping is a product of Germany's own Anton Schwarzkopf and Werner Stengel. I've been enjoying this powerful wonder since its debut at the same location in Munich in 1989. Olympia never fails to impress.
