The Atlas of False Desires - one of the most compelling stories DUST has ever posted. " . . . the internet doesn't make us more involved, it reinforces our own narrow views, we're only shown what we want to see." Truth cubed, on steroids. I also happened to notice (and like) the 3D fractal motif (looks like Mandelbulber 3D), powerful presentation with very minimal budget, A+ production. As for Mystery (formerly the Beacon), had seen this before, but very well done drama mixed with superb CGI.

I have a gripe about space explorers removing their helmets in alien environments and people touching unfamiliar substances, otherwise I enjoyed it. I also have a bunch of questions, how long can the creature survive between feedings? What if he just wrote his wife off as dead and missing? What does it eat in lieu of people? Why adopt impersonating beacons on such a remote planet? With ships coming up missing in that particular area, why has no one put a warning beacon in space to ward away ships that may respond? My last question is based on the assumption that multiple ships have disappeared by that point, companies don't like losing cargo and someone would have been sent to investigate.

I wouldn't try to make sense of it. It's just a captivating narrative. In reality, to evolve such a mechanism, you need an entire population of such creatures, and a high enough success rate with certain strategies in order to drive evolution. So i just enjoyed the story telling and the filming, which was well done.

She froze to death on that planet. And he died shortly after learning that in a ground collapse. (Which was due to a mistake on his part, since his computer told him when he came in that the ground there was unstable. Or maybe it was suicide? Or a forlorn hope that he'd find his wife before she actually died, if too frozen to leave messages?)

If you want to save your rivers. Demand change in pollution regulations in your country. Oh and stop burning human bodies in your river and dumping human waste into them. And stop blaming people for buying clothes. If you were smart you would dehydrate all of the water out of your dyes using the sun and condense the water for reuse. Water is an extremely important resource.
