Possibly the greatest explanation ever given for the importance and necessity of fiction. A wonderful response to non-fiction "snobs".

Reading history is just as important. The soul needs the intellect.

I just love listening to him talk, anything he talks about becomes magical. Just the way he describes and presents things.

when ads come up, turn your sound off and scroll down for 30 seconds. I dream of a day when the powerful quit taking advantage of everyone. Thanks for the vids.

That's exactly how I write my stories! Bradbury was my favorite author. I think I have read all of his books.

I remember first hearing about Ray Bradbury when I was young from the credits of "Beast from 20,000 Fathoms" which in itself was based off his story "Fog Horn." Since then, I began my long journey of reading as many of Mr. Bradbury's stories I as I could. He was such a major influence on me and I wanted to become a writer thanks to him. I was shocked to hear of his passing today. This video was very informal for writers who have trouble find something to write about. RIP Mr. Bradbury!!!!!

A truthful tautology of "tension", whether one is hanging from a thread or wound too tight. #tension

His explanation of 'the nursery' does not necessarily mean that there is no more to the story than a piece of science fiction exploration. It is still a representation of the relationship between technology and humanity, it clearly is, he is merely explaining one aspect of the tale to address a point he is making. Here he is simply explaining the way in which a plot or aspect of a story may be constructed, themes and concepts are then intertwined within the story to create great didactic fables

I bought a videocamera not long after my mom died, and I felt indirectly responsible. After watching this, I got an interesting insight into why I did 2 particular videos. In the 1st, (Remembrance) a woman dies. We all know her death is coming, but still, it happens quickly and takes the co-star by surprise. In the 2nd (Mine Child Mind) a woman is being taken away by death. The hero shows up, he leaves the scene yet she kills herself, and the man is left wondering if his actions caused this. Hmm
