4:00 just-so story/ narrative also fetishizes "prediction", but that's just a pop notion bc it's a simple and easy fake narrative; it's a pseudo-explanation of "the scientific method". A cheap, easy story, having little to do with reality. It's a specious characterization: it SOUNDS like an explanation of the nature of doing science. Prediction is not actually the driving factor, but it sounds plausible, in the pop mind.
