I want to learn more about the stereo bate substrate, how the furnace and the foundation can heat the floor in the cold winter. (I live in Canada and it get's similarly cold here.) I heat my house with a steel woodstove, but it gets very hot so I open the windows even in the winter. It is very convenient for cooking in the winter, but in the summer I cook outside. This is difficult in the rain, so I simply don't cook when it is raining in the summer, because to have a fire would be too hot, and I don't like rain to hit my food. If I had more resources I could build a roof over my outdoor cooking area to solve this problem, but I was just wondering if I could learn more about how this problem was traditionally solved in Korea. Thank you for the very informative and interesting video! I enjoy architecture from around the world! :) Very cool!

I think this design is so beautiful and comfy, sadly I think it might be too expensive and impossible to ever live in a house like this :((

Wow, i like korean culture, iam Hallyu!?!?! (What is this😅)
@Cherrychocol8
@Cherrychocol8 4 года назад
Hallyu is referring to 한류 , or the Korean Wave. The Korean Wave is the movement that popularizes Korean culture to the world. Therefore you can't "be" Hallyu, lol :) but you can definitely be hit with it haha

Most Joseon hanok me that were grand large and connected by many many wooden corridors or hallways have all been destroyed during the Japanese colonial period and the Korean government never sought to restore these huge wooden manors

Yea. Traditional hanok is more large and one floor house. But these days, Korean houses are starting to resemble Japanese houses. Specifically, two-story houses with narrow floor plans are becoming mainstream.
