Guerilla Science uncovers the science of disco with an interactive experiment at Carwash London.
Guerilla Science, Carwash(London’s longest running disco club) and neuroscientists from the Max Planck Institute teamed up to carry out a live experiment. Together we explored the strange things that happen in our brains when we hit the dance floor.
Seventy disco-loving test subjects were each fitted with a fluorescent bum-bag and smartphone to investigate what goes on during a DJ set, moving as one on the dance floor. Data on people’s movements was collected as they danced the night away to a special set from DJ Annie O.
We are immensely proud that we officially danced our way into science history! The disco data has been analysed, peer-reviewed, and it turns out, Wham! is guaranteed to sync up the disco-dance floor!
Experiment occurred December 2015.
