@@Rohit-ih7cp f*ck you! You dont know the progression. It has spent over 2 decades for this research. NEI funded Neitz lab, and the scientists ever asked human clerance in 2019 but FDA rejected it. They have AVA-322 for deutran and AVA-323 for protan as the candidates. Do you know that dude? Shut up your mouth if you have blank head.

This research has begun since 1999 and first implemented for monkey in 2009 and now at 2019 that does not try for human yet. Hopefully FDA will approve that trial to human and it will work properly. I doubt if someday millions of people lost their dreams because of this disorders. May the researchers have the long life so that they can improve their inventions day by day.

Gene therapy for red green color blindness please.., I have been waiting for human trials since 2009

On Wednesday, March 2015, Avalanche Biotechnologies in Menlo Park and the University of Washington in Seattle announced a licensing agreement to develop the first treatment for colorblindness. The deal brings together a gene therapy technique developed by Avalanche with the expertise of vision researchers at the University of Washington. "Our goal is to be treating colorblindness in clinical trials in patients in the next one to two years," says Thomas Chalberg, the founder and CEO of Avalanche. The agreement has its roots in a scientific breakthrough that occurred six years ago. That's when two vision researchers at the University of Washington used gene therapy to cure a common form of colorblindness in squirrel monkeys. "This opened the possibility of ultimately getting this to cure colorblindness in humans," says Jay Neitz, who runs the Color Vision Lab at UW along with his wife, Maureen Neitz.

I have achromatopsia which colorblindness if a part of. If they're having much progress with this then surely something simular for achromatopsia will be around soon too I guess.

@derekismature Ugh, I'd freak out seeing more of the spectrum than I already see in normal color vision. I was able to see the spectrum simulated as to what a bee see's etc. Its actually limiting and somewhat monochrome, but pretty in its own way, because the colors are very loud.
