Scientifically Ranking Every Undertale Song! 

Hey everyone, I want to apologize for putting Finale so low. I got it mixed up some remixes of Hopes and Dreams, which on review, is incorrect. This was a long process, so I probably just missed that mistake. If I were to do the list again, I would give it a score of 86 (8 10 8), putting it between Spear of Justice and Metal Crusher at 23rd. Sorry about that. All that being said I still completely stand by my opinion of STMPWYFS.

putting finale under the main menu theme is criminal

Undertale being number 1 is extremely fitting to me, it's such a great ost.

I personally headcanon that Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans is what you get if you could’ve fought Sans on the pacifist or neutral run. Of course, that’s just an idea, but it is fun to think about.

Toby Fox actually released a very interesting beta version of Undertale (the song not the game), saying it was scrapped because he thought it being so melancholic would lessen the song's effectiveness. It's most definitely worth to hear and I would love your opinion on it and other "extra"/scrapped songs such as Bereavement.

1:41 thats....the joke, its the "song that *might* play when you fight sans"....aside from the Geno route, YOU NEVER FIGHT SANS, thus it isn't in the game. It also perfectly fits who sans is on the outside, a goofball pun skeleton. It's fun, isn't serious, because despite what people pretend, sans is not this overly depressed skeleton, he's genuinely a silly goober. He does have his serious moments and is a serious character at times, however that isn't the bulk of who he is. About the whole depression thing, sans doesn't actually remember past timelines. He guesses that they might've had a better life, and he knows how hes killed you via reading your expression, but he doesn't actually remember past timelines and theres much evidence to go against it

The only explanation I have for finale being so low is that he must’ve mixed it up with save the world (still a great song, but unlike finale, that song is actually a hopes and dreams remix)

Song that might play when you fight sans is in the ost to hide the fact that megalovania is sans's boas theme which is neat. But yea its repetitive but its cool that its basic a remix of the overworld sans theme and bonetrausle mixed jn

Personally, I think Here We Are is not bad at all and I can absolutely listen to it out of context. Probably more so than Amalgamate, too.

Finally someone who agrees with me on death by glamour

STMPWYFS was never meant to be in the game, it was soley put in the soundtrack to throw off people who expected a sans fight in the early days of undertale.

Small correction because I love STMPWYFS and also because I'm a pedant, afaik it didn't get scrapped, it was never meant to be in the game in the first place. Based on the placement in the OST and the highly ironic title, I believe it was meant as a "sans' theme if you fought him outside of geno, but that's not gonna happen" easter egg, not just a scrapped song. EDIT : Also, why not include Power of NEO?

Wow thats great. Now we need it for the whole deltarune too. Also would be nice to make undetstanding the numbers more easily, since remembering each percentage of the stat and then multiplicating it for that is kinda inconvenient.

Love the fact you didnt include some of the songs like Ooo or barrier. Or else the video would be an hour or sumthin

spider dance is the one that's popped up in my head the most over the years o: my sister had me listen to toriel's boss fight as my first UNDERTALE song , the fanart in the music video gave me a strange and strong nostalgic like feeling even though i had no idea what the game/play was like.... also nice to see jontron's theme ranked at #5 good taste brony

STMPWYFS DOES fit sans, i don't get why you say it doesn't it's a whacky and silly song that's sans!! it may not be him in like a geno or some neutral settings, sure, but it totally fits who he acts like in pacifist that's the point of the song really to be a zany little tune that you'd jam to if you theoretically fought sans as a nonkiller, which is why "might" is in the title i disagree with a lot of other takes in here, as well as not understanding the lack of inclusion of some songs, but i'm just getting this point out there.

Amalgan deserves way more. The syncopation at the beginning hits so differently, the bass goes so hard, it's awesome. I would put it below ruins.

It’s largely in G Dorian while borrowing from the parallel Aeolian (as well as Phrygian and even Locrian for one chord during the intro). None of the major modes (e.g., Lydian, Ionian, Mixolydian) appear even once throughout the piece.

Probably my biggest upset of the video, is the amalgam and here we are being so low, since they are some of my favourite songs on the soundtrack even outside of game, aand anout the remix potential? You clearly havent listened to what people have done with it. For a more tame example, the version used in undertale the musical, doesnt change too much but adds intentional glitches to the song, which adds a ton to it. And then some people just go wild with it
