"Earth Suit" - likening it to an astronauts 'space suit', which is an absolute requirement to sustain life in space - is the most simple way (IMO) to explain, and understand, the role of the human body, in the trinity (small 't') of our spirit, soul and body. At least for me, it gives the opportunity to visualize it, and being a 'visual learner' myself, that is very beneficial. Calling it a "host" gives the implication that the human body is capable of sustaining life on it's on, sans the spirit and soul that inhabit it. It is not! The Bible tells us how demons had to inhabit a body - regardless of human or animal - in order to remain on the planet. When the demons were cast into the pigs, the pigs were ALREADY living, breathing creatures; the demons just hitched a ride (albeit it off a cliff), so in that respect I suppose they could be loosely viewed as "hosts" . . . but NOT so with humans! There is NO LIFE without the spirit. There is the UNION of spirit, soul & body, from conception. Spirit, soul and body are joined together in the womb! Learning about ourselves, as triune beings, is a facinating endeavor. The hierarchy of the three . . . spirit, soul, and then body. The purpose of each. The difference between spirit and soul, which some have been taught are the same; just different names for the same thing. It is not! Each of the three parts of a human being has it's own purpose, and it operates in, and for, that purpose, in it's respective realm. FORGIVE ME, please! I didn't intend to ramble on and on. I just love delving into this subject. It is deep, but can be easily understood, providing the right picture has been painted. The comparison of the human body as our "earth suit", enabling us to remain on the planet, and function in the physical realm, is a great start. I could go on for hours, or longer . . . this is such a facinating, indepth topic. The purpose and place for our spirit, our soul, and our body - is a topic that is, sadly, absent from many churches, today. I believe to truly understand ourselves, and our purpose, we must first understand our capabilities; to understand what we are capable of requires an understanding of these three, individual, parts of ourselves! I also praised man and "science" when the word simply means knowledge but; is used to try to debunk the bible when in reality they prove eachother to be correct. The old testament shows how we fell into the bondage of sin and death and the new testament is how God defeats sin and death through Jesus Christ. So back to Jesus he came as God in the human form to live a sinless life and die so that you and I can follow him instead of any other religion,lie etc and give us a chance at everlasting life in heaven because the earth is the world of the devil. We are born into sin, again read the bible. We are sinners. Anybody who doesn't admit that is not a true born again Christian. We also have a conscience, which tells us right from wrong. Con,with; science,knowledge. So would you consider yourself to be a good person? If you said yes, put that to the test with the 10 commandments. Again from the bible. We have all broken the ten commandments which are called the moral law. Those are God's standards and that shows you that no one is good. We are liars, thieves, blasphemous, murderers, adulterers etc at heart. There's a story in the bible that a rich man runs up to Jesus and says "good master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus replied, "why do you call me good?there are none good but God." It also says we are going to die once and after this the judgment. So when that day comes God will judge us based on the commandments because he's a just and moral God/judge. He's not going to be crooked and only convict some. everyone would be going to hell/jail including you and I. Hebrews 10:30-31 "And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." But because of what Jesus did on the cross our debt has been paid and we can be forgiven IF we repent and trust in Jesus Christ. Understanding how amazing that is how you can be set free, forgiven of your sins and have everlasting life in heaven instead of going to jail. It's the free gift of salvation. It's not anything to be "fanatic" about and this is where unbelievers think like this because you guys don't even know the truth and you think you do. Again I say this with all due respect. Because when I didn't know I had the same mentality. To be born again is simply admitting our sins and knowing the truth and following Jesus. It's not a religion it's a relationship, knowing the father, the son and the holy spirit. Every other religion and occultism believes in doing works to gain everlasting life with God or false Gods and demons really. Christianity says it's a free gift. We can not bribe the judge,God. All we can do is cling on his mercy through what Jesus Christ did in paying our fine. God can do what is legal and just, even though we are guilty and let us go because Jesus paid our fine. And once you do that your sins will be washed clean, you have God's promise on it, not mine. Everything is based on the bible! Our time revolves around Jesus' life. You'll realize how lost and blind you were. Unbelievers don't want to worship or praise God but little do they know they are out here worshipping the devil, eating from the forbidden tree over and over. The entire world, systems, elites, etc know and worships the devil and are enemies of God. Many religions, churches, corporations, people use religion for their agendas. So always know what God says or is God given vs what man says. To our laws and God given rights vs mans made laws etc. But that's a convo for another day. I pray that you can humbly go to God and seek the truth. John 8:32"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Even with the death of Jesus the pharisees and Roman's thought it would die out which is what they wanted so they can continue to have power but instead it spread like wildfire. We are called to love our neighbors our enemies and go out and spread the gospel. We know this truth now and are watching everyone running toward the cliff to eternal death and we're like "hey guys, over here's,there's another path through Jesus Christ come this way!!!."
