If this was really happening, they would do it again, let someone else do it, do it outside, weight it, add acid to see if it dissolves or gasses, put it in water, put it in alcohol, etc. There was no attempt to analyse the material here. Didn't even do a weight per volume (density). Or compare that end product to the starting product. Did it gain mass somehow? Is it conductive, magnetic,- was the sand they started with? Did they even analyze the sand? Science is about process, experiment, repeatability. And then... Only then... Do you make guesses, or "conclusions". They come at the end of a study for a reason. Also, the melting point of sand is higher than steel. It needs a seriously hot fire, not something you hack together from pots and pans (which melt easily). So glass with a metal coating, and some trace elements from sand (like Ag) is not special. That whole area is known for silver and gold mines. So if someone claims this happens because of "magic cave energy", the first thing you do is take the experiment away from the "magic cave". Did it still work? Nuff said. ...But then they would have to hire better writers!
