1 - Yes, there would be gases, and that is precisely the problem with Oumuamua and its increase in speed, no gas was observed leaving Oumuamua, no gas tail, however the solution to this could be an "invisible" gas, which would make Omuamua a dark comet, and this can be explained with hydrogen. 2 - In fact, this is quite normal for comets, when they pass the Sun they accelerate with the gases escaping, like a volcano, thus increasing their speed. Omuamua would be in the dark comet classification, which would be a new classification of comets.
