The Starseed story is almost exactly a story that I was thinking of ... we seed the galaxy ... and eventually our "children" re-evolved from entirely different planets, but based on DNA, would find us and realize we had done it
It seems to me that it’s better that one man be made an example of setting a new president than for two peoples to be plunged into a war where one side fights out of pride and the other side fights out of revenge in reaction to the self-aggrandizing actions of a tyrant, such wars tend towards the bloodier side of the spectrum and should be prevented when possible.
The great thing about it is this: the emperor was seen as a deity, it wasn't just an assasination, the humans undeniably killed thier "god" in front of the whole galaxy
Imagine them finding out about the A.I. They would think an extremely powerful species wanted to ensure future survival of life, or that they were an experiment.
Or set that army in motion if the dagger's NOT well placed. Although given that humanity lived long enough to be tried, it presumably was well placed in this case.
Fun fact... during the franco-prussian war, bismark captured the french leader, napolean iii During the battle of sedan. It was a disaster.... For the prussians. With the french leader now a pow. the French ranks dissolved into chaos leaving no one with sufficient authority for the prussians to negotiate with. The capture of the enemy head of state had effectively turned what should have been the surrender of french forces into a potentially long drawn out and bloody war. Things kind of sorted themselves out after about 5 months, but the moral of the story... eliminating the enemy's leader isn't always the best move.
Sounds like a typical American politician. Set a plan, abide the plan, axe it all, end up accidentally being the good one in history. Kind of like the whole sewer lid being the first thing accidentally sent into space.

Given the option of getting away from the woke and having my great grandchildren complete the journey I would happily go on a interstellar colony ship.
@@nabbitgohome9672 Humanity is dead due to Earth getting zorched by a gamma ray burst, we don't know what life there was in a the galaxy prior to the Starseeds spreading through it but afterwards there was a lot
