Found a way for even smaller hands: When you split the deck with the nail of your thumb, don't push the lower part down. Let the top part pop up instead. This helps retaining the grip on the lower part. Then push with the middle finger against the upper part to rotate it out towards you. Finally grab it with your thumb on the bottom short end and proceed as shown in the video. With this method you do not have to reach around the corner. Thank you Apollo Magic. Without your video I would have been lost.
Great video! I have small hands and this is exactly what I needed. Both for motivation and information. Definitely do a video for small hand palming if you can!
giant LOBSTER HANDS! Lol. My hands are smaller than yours and taking a third off the deck helps a lot. Do you ever use mini decks? Or are those too small for you?
'Lobster hands' is pretty funny but I prefer 'enormous Shrek hands' as my go to. lol I'm a female magician that's recently learning cardistry & I have laughably puny hands, I literally just measured my pinkies & they're 2-inches long at best & my pointer fingers are a whopping 2 3/4-inches, which explains why the top of the card stack falls right past my pinky tip in a straddle grip & rotations around my pointer is a big struggle but your video is the most helpful tutorial I've ever seen by far & you're so much kinder & understanding than the typical Shrek-handed cardists that are teaching tutorials. You've just earned yourself a subscriber my friend. 👌🏻
I have tried several one-handed cardistry tutorials and kept failing. You videos helped me, man. My hands are not that small, but my fingers are not long, I have similar issues. Thanks a lot.
Well, nothing to be ashamed of we all face the same I understand your pain :) I couldn't find much success too but this helped. While cutting the deck and splitting it try riffling down the bottom packet you're most likely to get stuck at the last card in the deck when that happens stretch your thumb a bit more to clear it. Its slow but this kind of worked for me.
Holly molly guacamolle!!! This is exactly what i needed!!! Thank youuu soo muchh!! When i was looking at the other tutorials i thought they are kidding me with that angle, i am a girl so my hands are naturally smaller.
My problem is I have very small hands but my pinky is even disproportionately small to the rest of my short stubby fingers. I don't have enough room in my palm due to the shortness of my fingers.
so i have like the smallest hand and the stretching exercise is the most important part for mee being able to actually get the thumb down to the pinky is crucial.
This was a great video. I had been practicing and wasn't able to come close to being able to complete the cut. By the end of your video I was able to complete it without looking at what I was doing. Thank you!
That will come with time. When your starting if you use really old/used bicycle cards or, better yet, plastic coated cards such as streamlines they will slide much less till you build up the muscle memory.
@@LearnYourMagic HASENT YET USING A 3RD OF THE DECK AND I STILL CANT GET IT OVER WITHOUT USING MY OTHER HAND. I DID IT ONCE ALMOST DROPE DMY CARDS LOL GONNA KEEP TRYING
nicely done. great breakdown of the motion. I actually find the index finger is the key for me. Squeeze with that at the top of the cards... and it moves the top pack out.
This was so useful. Even just watching this I'm further on with the scissor cut than I was after hours of practice. I'd love a video on the one handed shuffle for people with smaller hands 🙏🏻
Hey no problem! Yeah i think sometimes you gotta play with it a little to figure out what works. Eventually it won't even matter where you cut the deck.
