The fact that this was composed about 60 years ago, and the man who created it (Ted Nichols) is still alive is amazing. And I'm very glad about that! 😊
A creepy looking mansion that’s rumored to be haunted. A psychedelically painted van parked outside it. A gang of curious youths who decided to sleuth around. And their pesky dog.. “Like,.. are we sure this is a good idea?” “C’mon, Shaggy! It’s just a decrepit old house that’s been abandoned for nearly seven years now; we have nothing to worry about.” The door slams closed behind the plucky junior detectives, who remain uncertain as to what lies in store for them.. “Jinkies!..” “Jeepers!..” “Ruh-Oh!..” “Zoinks!..” “Well! Let’s split up, gang!”
You can play the darkest metal in existence but something about the 60s psychedelic sounds evoke a feel of dread and terror that is unmatched. It all sounds like a nightmare that can only be done under the influence of something very mind altering. Even black metal can't reach that level of mystery. This sounds like something you'd hear in your dreams being chased by a unknown entity the faint white walls barely lit and endless pitch black rooms open... its terrifying most of that stuff sounds like we are still on earth this does not.
it's kinda like taking the distortion off of a metal songs and it turns into a surf rock riff, it's all cut from the same cloth just woven differently for different tastes
Dude wtf 😂 are you sure you are not being hyperbolic? Classic scooby doo was not scary at all. And this track it's obviously more silly than everything
There's big love for "Scooby Doo, Where Are You" because when we were young it was comfort food for the soul, it was safe and cozy, and every episode followed a routine that its viewers liked: there was no actual danger or genuine phantoms/monsters, it featured fun gags about food and being scared, and it featured ultra cool background music by Ted Nichols that became tattooed on our minds. The fact that the show's animation was ultra low budget and cheesy didn't matter. This show was the epitome of childhood. It's great that we have access to the music and to the episodes today. When I was a kid in the 1970s & 1980s we had Saturday mornings, and that was the opportunity to follow the misadventures of "those meddling kids" ... with one's obligatory bowl of cereal.
One of the newer episodes was about someone wanting to scare off beachgoers to buy up the land for cheap. But for some reason they summoned actual mischievous demons to do it.
@@Mr12Relic There have been so many series on TV and direct-to-video movies, it's a little overwhelming. I haven't watched anything "Scooby" since the original Saturday morning show. And I honestly wasn't over the moon for that show because of the limited animation, lol. But I can't deny that Scooby and friends are an enduring pop culture phenomenon, like Peanuts or Batman or Barbie.
Ted Nichols (also composer of The Herculoids, Space Ghost, Penelope Pitstop, Fantastic four, Shazzan and many more). Hanna-Barbera's second musical genius after the late Hoyt Curtin
There never was and never will be again this perfect mix of spookiness yet funny and kid-friendly with comfortable nostalgic 70s era animation. No Scooby Doo after this initial run was ever able to match it. Everyone needs to just quit trying and let this Scooby Doo be the one we're looking for.
Well that's just untrue, there are plenty of great Scooby Doo pieces of media that are better than the original show. Though yes, I would say none have the exact same vibe, though The New Scooby Doo Show and The New Scooby Doo Movies have a very similar feel.
The show is so repetitive. Plot wise, joke wise, music wise, the art, everything. I literally can't tell the episodes apart in my memories. Yet, it's so good. Scooby-Doo is almost like a genre than it is a show...
This was, in fact, the one I was looking for; there's another video that has a collection of just about every underscore from the show but it takes forever to get through...
Lmao how’d you know?! So glad I’m not the only one that finds this tune so creepily captivating! Just everything about it is such a masterpiece! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Actually I was looking for the underscore opening when the gang is in their car driving somewhere, they're talking about something or somewhere they're going, Scooby is goofing around etc.
