Honestly, I feel like a sort of sci-fi / steampunk / whatever WWI dogfight scene with a burning blimp falling out of the sky would make such a cool large-scale project.
Yeah I agree, it would look amazing. Yet it would take him so much time, so if he made that and nothing else in large scale we wouldn't get a vid in a while. So the project would probably be done in his free time.
"Now, Snoopy had sworn that he'd get that man So he asked the Great Pumpkin for a new battle plan He challenged the German to a real dogfight While the Baron was laughing, he got him in his sight." The Royal Guardsmen
Is it ironic that this is possibly one of the best dogfight dioramas I've ever seen? I mean one of the combatants is a doghouse, and it's so good looking! Great job Boylei!
The impact on Red Baron's plane really looks great. Makes we want to see a bigger air battle scene. Perhaps a WWII one with a flying fortress and fighter planes, and flaks from the ground. I picture the ground as being in a much smaller scale, so that our POV or what to call it is from up in the air.
Baron von Richthofen actually flew biplanes most of the time. His first red plane was the Albatros D.III, a biplane, and only 19 of his 80 kills were made in the famous Fokker Dr.I triplane. So this is quite accurate, for a diorama showing him battling a beagle flying a dog house!
I had an epic album as a child called “Goofy Greats”, and my favorite song on it was “Snoopy Vs The Red Baron”. This outstanding build brought so many great childhood memories flooding back, and I’m sure I’ll be singing that song all day long! Thanks Boylei! ❤️
I have this on cassette. It was a dorm secret Santa gift my junior year of college. Haven’t had anything to play it on in over 25 yrs but I still have it and I still have the secret Santa as a friend!
I had a red, floppy plastic 45 of this song that came in a box of cereal when I was a kid and I played it until it didn't work anymore. "Curses, foiled again!" Thanks for the memories.
The songs of Snoopy vs. The red Baron make me cry every time. I absolutely love the idea of this feud that has build over some time coming to a head in the sky and our hero is so certain that he is about to die at the hands of his nemesis, when said nemesis calls out to him wishing him Merry Christmas!!!???!?!?! 😭😭😭 The respect!! The brotherhood even across enemy lines!!! Literal ugly tears every time! Thank you Boylei! A beautiful diorama!
I think this is my all time favorite of yours! I have been following your channel for a long time and this one made me so happy. I am 52 and I watch the great Pumpkin every year. Just awesome stuff.
This one was a bit of a surprise to me. I honestly didn't think it would be all that interesting. But I of course was wrong. It's actually quite amazing! We'll done!
Great diorama. I used to have a collection of peanuts books and this really brought back some memories of reading them late at night under the covers with a flashlight long after "lights out". A fine sopwith camel befitting a World War flying ace. Now to convince you to do a time machine as used by a young mischievous boy and his tiger friend : ) Loved this one!
Little model, half of it already assembled. 8 minute video… EPIC conclusion! Dude the Baron’s plane and the effects are amazing! Fantastic build! The Great Pumpkin will surely visit you this year as your patch is most sincere 🎃🍷
"Curse you, Red Baron!" LMAO -- this was great! One of my favorite childhood memories brought to life. My cheeks hurt from smiling through the whole video 😊 Awesome idea, incredible execution (per usual). Love your show!
Been a fan of Snoopy especially when he goes up against The Red Barron in a epic dog fight. What you have created here is awesome especially with the lights on the Barron's plane. Awesome work.
This is bringing back memories of a snoopy-themed flying game I played the crap out of as a kid. It was way fun, all the Peanuts characters had their own unique planes, and as I recall it even had a little bit of a story.
Very nice work!!! Snoopy and the Red Baron is my absolute favorite part of the Peanuts!!! The songs depicting this famous dog fight are also my favorite holiday songs!! Usually around Christmas time!! Well done sir!!
In Korea a certain brand of coffee milk has an illustration of Snoopy as a part of its package design. It is coffee, and coffee is not regulated like energy drinks, which ended up making it crank up its caffeine content more than twice as high as an average energy drink. Redbull may give you wings, sure, but in Korea Snoopy will give you air dominance over the German WW1 fighter ace.
Love the Iwata. I got rid of all my art stuff 30 years ago and my Custom Micron was the one thing I didn't have the heart to get rid of. I still have it in its original box. Love your stuff!
WOW, your attention to detail is astonishing. To sculpt your own Snoopy out of nothing, AMAZING!!!! My jaw was wide open this whole video. And i never realized how may parts there are to a spray gun! Geeshe!
This was always my favorite part of the Halloween special! Seeing Snoopy sneaking through the grass behind enemy lines after being shot down, shaking his fist at the Red Baron lol However it looks like Snoopy has been diving into the dog bones a little to often 😁 Great Diorama!!
This is why I consider myself a Folk Artist. Accuracy only matters when you want it to, as we tend to create fantastical people, creatures, and scenarios that don't exist in real life. You did a fantastic job, me boi!
What a great build. I recall hearing a song about snoopy nd the Red Baron on the radio a few times. I think it was played around Christmas time for some reason.
Halloween decorations are always a surprise. Wow the bullet holes light up! Nice! And it's ok, the Red Baron had more planes than just his Fokker Dr. 1
You just blew through in about 10 seconds the shaping of Snoopy from clay, but that alone is probably the most amazing part of this diorama! You should do an expanded video on how to work and create with clay. Also: fun fact... in the Christmas special the doghouse is BLUE for a couple of shots.
Watching the 3 main Peanuts Specials (Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) every year is a family tradition of mine. It’s one of my favorite parts of the holiday season so to see you make this has made me so happy. Thanks for making some of the coolest diorama’s on RU-vid!
Though all of your creations are fantastic, especially the IWW, I have to claim this by far my favorite! Probably because of growing up with Snoopy and the song by the Royal guardsmen Snoopy vs the red baron.
Hello ! Thank you and congratulation for that diorama. It's so simple, but so nice ! I love the realism of the Red Baron plane compared with the comic style of Snoopy house. Wow !
Watching your videos has helped me refine my technique in my own crafts. Thanks!! I’m trying to learn more about model painting specifically and I’m just generally interested in your tools and workflow overall. Would you consider making a video to overview your tools and workflow or any other specific tutorial videos? I would absolutely love to hear you talk about your crafting philosophy and whatnot. Thanks again for everything you do!
This is great, Boylei, and it brings back a lot of fond, childhood memories! Though I did raise an eyebrow when you had the Red Baron flying a French SPAD instead of an Albatross or a Fokker; I viewed the apparent size difference as "forced perspective." Again, great job! As a sidebar, Atlantis recently brought back the old 1970's Monogram "Snap-Tite" model kits of Snoopy in his Sopwith Camel, and a companion caricature of the Red Baron in his Fokker Dr.1. Both come with motorized propellers. I'd like to see what you may do with those . . . . As a second sidebar, since I was a kid, I always wondered what a cartoon crossover might look like between "Peanuts'" Snoopy in his Sopwith Camel, and another cartoon aviator dog - the ever-snickering Muttley - in his own aircraft from the 1969 Saturday morning Hanna-Barbera cartoon, "Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines." Now, THAT would be a REAL "Dogfight!" Thanks for sharing this!
I have always wanted to do a history of flight series, but I'm not good at this stuff. I think you would do a fantastic job of it. Start with Icarus, all the way to the space shuttle and stealth planes. Even include fictional like Peter Pan and Star Wars. And don't forget Darius Green and his flying machine.
