Well, actually it's really helpful because you don't have to call a trailer to take it to the mechanic. It's not the solution to the issue for sure however still migth save some money ;)
For a second I just thought it was him switching the kill switch on and off for click bait, as these bikes have a kill switch next to the egnition switch, but maybe your right.
Mate. I owe you a pint or 2. My Milano just would not start. Just literally came back in from trying this and I now have a scooter that starts. Cheers mate you’re a star
I'm very non-mechanical so when I saw your trick, I thought what do I have to lose. It worked immediately. Thank you so much! You are the "Scooter Whisperer"! Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening again?
@@eddietrujillo172 I just got brand new carbureter a few weeks ago, it worked a few times then started giving me trouble. Killed a new battery, but for that I have a jump starter, still wouldn't start. It tries and tries and tries but just won't catch. This did the trick. Thank God, but I can't be blowing into my gas tank everytime I want to ride. What is causing this if not the carbureter?
@@jerieri1 the valve that help the gas go Tru the tank to the carb u may need that broh that's the only thing I can think of it may be clogged the one u already got
We bring the bike to two diffrent service shop. Always come back, with this problem. And we try this solution and now work perfectly! You are a Genius man!
Thanks for the comment and positive feed back. I'm happy this helped a lot of fellow people. I have sorted this problem now, with my scooter, I replaced all my small vacuum pipes, reset the tappet valves and now it starts Fairly easy Happy Scooting

RhodieSparky Rhodie is that turquoise colour on the foot panels factory standard plastic that came that way? If you painted it that colour, can you remember the colour and make of paint please? Would look perfect on my Aprilia Habana 125 if it's paint! Cheers.
you my dear sir - saved my yamaha neos 4 - everything was working. everything checked. not starting. THIS worked !!! thank you !! no mechanic, no friends none could help.
Hello Sir on this Tuesday July 18th 2023 from the USA🇺🇲,, I just wanted to THANK YOU BIG TIME! I was at my wit's end,, and this worked after being in storage and not started for 3 years!! THX AGAIN ✌️ also a Tip to anybody out there siphon out all the old gas out that you can and replace with new before you try this.
Thank you for this video! Worked after about5 minutes. My scooter hadn’t been started in 9 months and I assumed it was the battery so purchased a new one but wish I tried this first.
Holy shyt my scooter has sat for two years granted I only use non ethanol I treated it right but still 2 years would not start for the life of me what days I did this and it fired up within two tries!!I'm FUCKIN BLOWN AWAY
Update: I fixed my Scooter, it turned out to be the Carburetor, it needed to be cleaned, but the manufacturer's part/carburetor was sealed so you can't open it up manually, unless you get a drill and drill it out, it is three screws, I got two little screws perfectly but the last one I did.. i accidentally drilled into the carburetor itself, so I had no choice but to buy a new one, which is $20. The new carburetor has screws that you can screw out, it's easy now. Everything works 👍
This is called vapor log. What happens is when the engine sucks gas out of the tank and there is no air coming from vent in the gas cap a vacuum is created. You don't need to blow into the tank removing the cap is plenty. To eliminate this replace the gas cap with a vented one or drive with the cap laying on the gas tank opening without screwing It in or drill a hole or 2 in your cap. Just remember you did this if ever you need to tip your bike over or anything like that
We had starting trouble with Vespa zx. Road side asst. Was called and did the same trick and started the scooter ok. Worki ng fine for few days now. Took scooter for check up to dealer. He says fuel pump might be problem and may require replacement. How within a year fuel pump can go wrong?. And if fuel pump is faulty, then how scooter is working fine for a week? Vespa management should answer this.
Sounds familiar , make a switch to activated the fuelpump for just a few seconds, better with a pressure switch , somehow the ECU is not giving the release to start , with that switch to activate the fullpump after the start everything is normal again .
Or you could just buy an aprilia or derbis enda sm or drd x-trem so you get the kick start👍🏽 Or buy a moped with manual gear so you can roll-start it if the electric and kick start doesn’t work.👍🏽

Dam dude you know that wont work whit others maybe you just need to repkace patrol filter or the vacuum hose becouse like you trying to pus fuel treu that simply means youre moped doesnt get enought fuel or maybe just maybe you got to litle compresion

fuel starvation..........if this is a persistant problem then it has some issues.........if it does this all the time after tune up then its a defective design........i have seen this on pegeot scoots............very irritating
My bike goes like this after sitting for a while like a week or two, even after ive started it ridden for 5 minutes stopped and tried to start it again, do you think its fuel starvation, I always thought it was electrics, the garage don't seem to know how to solve it.

Well if you get tired of blowin you can always get it started by suckin on the tail pipe ... ok now tell me to go to hell xD actually no joke thats how you get the radio- controlled nitro fuel powered toys started. you put a peice of hose on the little muffler and suck till the fuel line goes solid all the way to the carb , otherwise you will be pulling on that little starter rope for an hour
I am having issues with my scooter. It's a chinese red streak glide gyas 50 qmb139 motor. Brand new motor, cdi, solenoid, coil and battery but will not get power to cdi nor coil or spark plug but gets power everywhere else
This is absolutely bs. At first he didn't push the break lever before pushing the start button and when he try this delusional blowing of the gas tank, now he pulls of the break lever. Of course that will now start.
Hi I am open to criticism but if you watch the video carefully you will note that on the first try you will see that the back brake is been pulled and then the front break lever but thanks for the comment, the root of the problem was my valve tappets had settled in and there was no clearance therefor valves bid not close properly
Just tried this. Ran my scooter dry on ethanol free gas. I knew that the carburetor was fine, as I only run ethanol free gas. It worked great and I was spared a trip to the repair shop. Thank you.

If you have run your scooter out of gas and it won't start, this will help. It pushes the are out of the fuel line. If you have to do this to start you scooter and haven't ran out of gas, chances are your carburetor needs cleaned.
No it is a vacuüm issue the second air system have false air when hi blow in the pipe by the tank hi give pressure in the gaslines and starts.. Best solution is remove the second airsystem of renew the gas lines incl. Air system.
EVERYBODY! STOP GIVING ADVISE IF YOU DON`T KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. AND BLOWING IN A PAPER TUBE IS USELESS. I ASSURE YOU, THAT DOES`T START A SCOOTER. THE VACUUM FUEL VALVE IS THE ANSWER. WHEN YOU START YOUR ENGINE, IT CREATES A VACUUM IN THE FUEL VALVE. THIS IN TURN, RELEASES FUEL TO THE CARB, THEREBY STARING THE ENGINE. IF THE FUEL VALVE GOES BAD, HARD STARTING WILL RESULT. NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CARBURETOR. GOOFS.
Hi Mike Thanks for the comment and positive feed back. I'm happy this helped you. I have sorted this problem now, with my scooter, I replaced all my small vacuum pipes, reset the tappet valves and now it starts Fairly easy now Happy Scooting
Cleaning your carburetor also works. Any time you allow your scooter to sit for more than a month without use, the additives in the fuel will gum up and clog your carburetor. The tube trick might work some of the time, but not always.
This happend to me after not turning on my bike for 2 months. Just shake your bike a bit. And use full throttle while u try to turn it on. After 10-20 sec everything was ok. Its just the fuel that needs to reach the burning chamber
Fuel cut off vacum is sticking..not a carbereter problem...possibly because tank cap not venting causing vacum in tank..try giving cap internals good flush with carb cleaner.
Thank you so much I was stranded at a Clemson football game and no tow trucks would even come to get me but after taking my scooter back home in my buddies truck I tried this trick and it worked. I feel like my moped starts up better than it did before too
What you said is simply RIDICULOUS! No scooter engine or otherwise will be damaged by doing such! Certainly it's not the ideal way to start an engine. But from "not ideal" to "totaled" there's quite a distance! ;-)
It's ashame that people will post stupid comments like this without any knowledge of engines. The amazing thing is, this trick works. Why? filling an empty tank can cause an airlock and no matter how full the tank is, the engine can't get fuel. Pressurizing the tank can be accomplished many ways. Take the bike to a shop and let them attach a pressure hose, or, do it yourself. Yes, this procedure works, you just need to create a good seal and really push air into the tank. Thanks for the tip!
I HAVE A BRAND NEW 300CC CHINESE SCOOTER WITH ONLY 53 MILES ON IT NOW. TODAY IT STARTED BUT DIED, THEN IT WOULDN'T START!!! I TRIED THIS TRICK AND IT WORKED!!!!😄 WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT!! ME O SO HAPPY NOW!! THANKS.
