GUYS, I Confronted the 'World's Most Toxic' Skatepark video linked at the bottom of this short! 👀(BURNSIDE SKATEPARK) .. go watch cuz it got a little crazy The goal of that video, as you'll see if you watch it, is to spread the acceptance of all sports at the skatepark and try to make it so everyone can get along. Also to investigate if the rumors about this park are true and change people's minds on scootering. Truly enjoyed making that one AND I learned a lot about the park in the process.
@@giselau5606 Not really, the issue is with casuals that turn up to ride a scoter round a bowl like a dick and get in the way. A lot of this stems from quite some time ago before scoters really started to be their own thing. Which resulted in skateparks becoming daycare centers basically.
@@giselau5606 I don’t dislike inexperienced skaters, it’s the parents who drop them off who don’t know etiquette. It’s super annoying when they are surprised their kid gets plowed by some 18 year old guy, when the kid snaked him last minute. I personally don’t see the issue with non-experience skaters not showing up to a skate park. A majority of the stuff at skate parks are meant for experienced skaters, they aren’t meant for newbies. It’s something you work up towards. You’re not going to drop down a bowl the second day your skating or do a nose grind two hours into buying your first board. I remember the first time I was good enough to go to my local skate park. It was like I unlocked a new level in a video game, but also scary as hell. So I see no flaw in the logic that inexperienced skaters shouldn’t be right in the middle of the park putting themselves and other people in danger. The fact that you do makes me think you don’t skate but I could be wrong.
They might think only those with "action" trick should be inside the park. Other normal scooter should go elsewhere, pretty more space to go than them (Sound legit, if on other normal park, they might get scold by karen, because dangerous trick)
What they're trying to prevent are little kids who just ride scooters for fun and just take up space. If you got game, you got game. If you don't, you don't.
@@HelloIamCloudy Like there aren't kids who literally just take up space on a skateboard though. The mentality is wack to me. We all were a dumb kid with a board in the way at one point.
Fr. When I heard “you see the sign right there, right?” I found that pretty ironic. Skaters have been skating in places nobody wants them to skate and ignoring signs since the beginning 😂
@@Habeev07only if you’re good at it, the problem with the skatepark is the scooter “community”, they’re mostly young teens trying to show off (spamming mid shit like if they were in skate 3) and getting in the way of other fellow skaters
Not really. Skateparks are for skating. There is an etiquette to be followed. Often people who aren't on a skateboard don't know or accept the common courtesy that is expected (waiting your turn to use an obstacle, getting in the way, paying attention to what's going on around you and not causing collisions). So there is good reason for people to point it out when someone violates a space SPECIFICALLY designed for them.
@@copiusmaximus9696 Yeah and sidewalks are for walking and stairs are for climbing. The point is that skateboards are restricted in a lot of places by signage that skaters ignore. In fact, ignoring signs and skating where they're not allowed is a part of skating culture. That's what makes hardcore skaters pointing to signs and saying 'you're not allowed' so absurd and hypocritical. How this point flew so far over your head is beyond me, but here we are.
You're a whole twig brotha, your body is stripped of muscle i'd bet you ring too. If you're going to make these snarky ass comments, make sure to not post that shit on your channel😁
I think the rule is mainly in place to prevent 7 yr old scooter kids from riding on the park. Those are the ones that really get in the way and cut off skaters.
@@funnybones98 nah if you really werent there to criticize others, you would mind your own business until you see how someone truly is, he didnt even let them chill before already taking offense and only chilled out after he realized they were there to do tricks and not bum around. @@bigjwalkthestreets maybe in Cali tho I’m in Texas and I’ve not once in all my years of skating have not I seen other skaters knockin scooter dudes for they hustle. Kids yes but people who respect the park no.
@@cjbrags1344 I think I'm more referring to the funny in how skaters used to place stickers saying skateboarding is not a crime next to all the anti skateboarding signs on every piece of concrete.
I'm old enough to remember when skaters and snowboarders were frowned upon. Now they are millionaires. I agree with other comments, it really comes down to park etiquette.
scooters are more commonly accepted world wide, it's a place where skaters can skate and not be thrown out. it's their space. pretty clear by your comment you've never been a skater
@@s0litud3GT skateparks are basically hangout spots for teenagers and adults who want to hangout with teens, to do semi dangerous things. skating takes some skill and dedication. any kid can skoot. "no scooters" is basically code for no dumbass little kids putzing around getting in the way of the teens, as if this were some playground.
God forbid children use a park that was literally designed with them in mind because you're 37 doing your best unemployed Bam Margera impression. "Do you see the sign? No scooters" Same skater 2 days later skating at a public library staircase and kick flipping by an old lady and calling security Karens for trying to get them to leave. This is why everyone except skaters hates skaters. Hypocritical swine.
I can definitely see it. You cant scooter here u gotta earn our respect bro 😂. In the end all become best buds to some early 2000s punk to roll into credits.
@@ohrightok9750most karen’s raise their children by coddling/helicoptering so they end up expecting the world to revolve around them and what they want to do, so they would be the kids to bring a scooter to the park just to ride terribly and get mad when the skaters want them off the ramps.
@@GwoenrWhenbc scooters are responsible for alot of skatepark injuries, especially used in the wrong hands. scooters are made out of metal and are free forming which can hit ANYONE.

i mean i think they probably mentioned it for safety reasons just to warn these guys...it seemed more like he was being polite than teasing them for coming in with scooters
Which is a totally fair reason. Also the scooter riders at my local park have caused more injury than any other demographic because all they do is hit the bowl without looking and they end up running people on boards over. I wish my park would put a no scooter sign up for the safety and comfort of the skaters
@@alexhardy373 scooter kids ruined skating's reputation? what the fuck? why do they hate things that are easier? that's one of the dumbest mentalities i've ever heard of. bunch of salty ass crabs in a bucket dragging each other down.
Been to this park and many in the LA area and honestly its just like this. Scooters get a bad rap because generally its little kids that dont know wtf they're doing and snaking epic combos from skilled riders. We were all noobs at whatever were riding at 1 point but I feel like you need to polish up your skills in the street before u ever hit up the park especially on busy days. But you could be riding literally anything and if you're bustin out sick tricks you get the pass. So respect to these dudes for have the stones to show up and set some people straight.
@@ezrollerj I dont do either but It looks more dangerous to do those scooter tricks to me. Those scooters are metal and swinging near their head. both impressive imo
Nothing about defeat, just earning respect. Skaters don't actually listen to signs anyways, just keeping who don't belong out (people who are there just to roll around and be in the way)
@@dnegel9546 there isn't a community that exist that doesn't have this going on. Skaters vs bmx, imports vs domestic, football vs basketball, the console wars
@@bensam101it was, rewatch the video. The guy with the beard, long hair, and beanie is the guy that said something along the lines of "did you see the sign" and then cut to them doing tricks, wherein that same skater comes back and says something along the lines of "if you can do a backflip you're good" before giving a fist bump. There were quite a few jump cuts so I can see why you might've thought it wasn't the same person, I had to double check myself because I wasn't certain. But yeah, it was.
I think the no scooter thing is mostly for those kids that are just causing danger to themselves and everyone else riding around aimlessly, because they usually have scooters.
@@cough_sneezebans and rules are in place because of negative past experiences and reasons. Breaking the rule of no scooters and being awesome doing it will make them change their mind. That's why
That skater was really chill. He was respectful just pointing out the sign that says no scooters but when he saw you pulling off crazy tricks he was all pumped up lol
That’s because they took the drop in seriously. You get insane very or go upside down and land it, they will definitely be excited. Heck I’m sure they’d love to see some serious fruitboot or roller skating. It’s just 99.5% of blades, skates and scooter tricks are simply variations of bending over and touching your feet or going backwards.
"you saw the sign, right?" Sounded like a gentle warning. Hey man, there might be trouble ahead, just want you to know what you're doing. Glad it worked out.

@@commenteroftruth9790 I'm just guessing but probably has to do with scooters being more casual and the skaters don't want a bunch of slow scooters getting in the way at a park like this with a lot of obstacles. But if you're doing stuff like this no way anyone would care. Idk I'm not a skater but just a guess.
@commenteroftruth9790 The amount of children who's parents drop them off at the skatepark thinking it's a playground is crazy happens constantly super annoying and they do nothing but run around and get in dangerous spots where they could get hurt that's why there weird about scooters as usually it's children on them not guys like these lol
