@@stevenlee2780 agreed, Scopemate released these cameras before they were ready. Many improvements need to be made. They were actually using me to help them test and evaluate there product without telling me. So do a review video, test and evaluate, load software patches time and time again to fix problems, just a never ending time suck that at the end of the day still doesn’t work right. So I have a useless product I will not use for all the time I put into it. Never again.

@@scopemate-Cam since you brought it up, you state is is also a day camera, why does it require parallax adjustment for big magnification changes? What constitutes big magnification changes? What does the microphone and/or audio pickup so bad? I have seen other reviewers demonstrate the same poor audio feature. What are the limitations or aspects of your scope camera that you feel are pros that should be pointed out? You complain about Don’s review being all cons, let me ask, was he incorrect on what he demonstrated? When changing magnification, it would require refocusing (according to you, it requires parallax adjustment). Do you think that is a design flaw or feature? Do you feel consumers would think this is a feature? There are ways to handle a poor showing of a product, such as acknowledging the review, work on improving your product and ask for a second chance. An example is Angstadt Arms MPD-9 firearm. Came out, failed on many YT reviewers and they eventually came out with Gen2 and ask for another review and got their redemption. It is easy to blow a 1st impression, but it is how you respond and recover that will also make a lasting impression. Lashing out at a reviewer and his followers is not a professional way to manage it.

@@ToughCowboy they really did not want me to do this video, actually pleaded with me not to. I just gave a honest review. $350 is a lot of money for a product that doesn’t work right.

@@trevorgale1176 I’m glad your having a good experience. I told them to send me another unit and if everything goes well I’d do another review and take this one off RU-vid. I haven’t heard anything since. At this point l have this unit that won’t focus correctly and the WIFI doesn’t work. So the review stands. I have two other scope cameras and I have no issues getting them to work correctly. There is obviously something wrong with this camera.

@@blakemontrose6111 you have no idea! I get emails constantly. Mostly from Chinese companies wanting me to make a video on there extreme budget scopes, red dots, cameras, sex dolls…. Yes sex dolls. You name it. These companies prey on small channels trying to get product for content. Most guys that do these videos spend 3x the money on ammunition then the product is worth. Not to mention there time, fuel and camera equipment costs. They tell you they will send the product for free and when your a new channel you don’t really know the cost that entails. And they know that. These guys sent me a product that was in all rights still in beta testing, and unknowingly I was one of the testers. But, they never listened to anything I would tell them. It’s been a huge waste of time and money for a camera that is useless to me. And they have posted a shit load of negative comments trying to discredit me and question my integrity. So I’m in the process of making a pros and cons video that there so fond of. You should read the comments, very good read. Lol

@@mlone7 thanks, some people like that “tell it like it is “ qualify some do not. Don’t think ScopeMate appreciates it. I have over 100GB of video using this camera. I was in the process of doing another video to show people how bad the footage is but they would just say I wasn’t focusing it right. Most of the other guys that reviewed it didn’t show any videos on lower magnification. Now you know why, it won’t focus. The main expense in building these kinds of cameras is the lenses, mirrors and processors. And that’s where the difference in price between the TRIGGERCAM and this ScopeMate camera comes into play. The TRIGGERCAM uses better lenses and a better processor. Also the design of the inside where the mirrors are housed. The trigger cam shaped the inside with flat inside walls to redirect incoming light away from the camera, ScopeMate has a round shiny lens housing which throws light all over inside, which is why the light reflection on the recorded image is so bad. So between the poor quality lenses and mirrors and the inside of the looking window being round and reflective, that accounts for the huge performance difference. Whomever designed this camera should go back to engineering school. And whomever handles there social media / customer relations department should be fired!

@@scopemate-Cam I felt he did that. He showed the clear pictures as well as the blurry. He then showed what he meant by comparing the Triggercam and the ScopeMate looking at the same object at the same magnifications. I am not adept at recording like RimfireSS but I can see the difference between picture comparisons between the 2. That being said, I dont know what your engineers need to do to fix it.

@@scopemate-Cam so you are saying that in order for your cam to work properly you have to set the scope to the lowest setting, focus the scopemate at that lowest setting and when you increase to the higher setting it will be in focus all the way from the lowest to the highest scope setting?

@@ericrumpel3105 I have had great luck with the TRIGGERCAM I have. Been no problem at all. That said the first one I got had to be warrantied. And like you it was not easy. But the TRIGGERCAM is absolutely hands down one thousand percent better the this Scopemate product.

@@knine8154 lol, it’s not the first time and it won’t be the last. I’m sure they will come up with a decent camera once they learn there lessons and apply them to a new model. My worry was people buying this one. I just wanted them to know what they were getting. And that there are limitations on what scopes this works on.

@scopemate-Cam I know you have some decent products. I've seen one other review and they enjoyed it. However Don is giving an honest review as he always does. Just so happened he wasn't thrilled with this particular device. Hopefully you both can agree to disagree this time and let bygones be bygones!

@@airguntrucker i had a similar problem with another Chinese company’s optic and I had to send it back to China and it cost $88 to send USPS with insurance. I told them they would be responsible for whatever the shipping would cost. So they wanted me to send the camera to some address here in the states. Keep in mind I had several problems with this camera at this point and these guys were blaming me for not being able to operate the camera properly. I hadn’t done all of my filming for the review at that point and from our correspondence over email I wasn’t sure I would get the camera back if I sent it to this person. But I did tell them if they sent me another camera to replace this one I would send it. They would not. I also asked them to send the non night vision S18 and they refused. You can see by the comments they are leaving (unless the super rude comments have been deleted) there not very trustworthy.

@@RimfireSS it definitely sounds like they have problems. I was interested in a camera to record through the scope but I think I'll try my hand at building an adapter for my existing camera first. I like to tinker anyway. Thanks for the response. 👍

@@scopemate-Cam Don (RimfireSS) is very knowledgeable of scope operation and well respected by rimfire enthusiasts. Support your product! He asked for support and received nothing but negativism. Might it be possible that the sample he received is defective? Support the user, support the product!

@@scopemate-Cam lol… in the last email you sent. You begged me not to put out a bad review as it would destroy the S18’s sales. Then you told me to forget about doing a video at all. What planet are you living on?

@@scopemate-Cam only difference I can see is the NVS18 has a screen on the top and a NV light on the front. All the buttons and general shape and construction look identical with the NV having a couple more buttons. But in all fairness, that camera might work perfectly fine. Although most of the problems or “cons” as you like to put it are very similar in other RU-vid videos. Operator Reflection in the recording, out of parallax image (blurry out of focus recording) at closer ranges, camera still in R&D phase but on the market for people to buy, mic is internal with no access ( hole ) to the outside so all the internal noises inside the camera are very prominent while everything outside the camera is muffled and barely audible, many different cameras on the market, circle version, rectangle version and no way to choose which one you get online, cameras with bad glass, reticle focus knob falling apart inside. Pretty sure there the same camera.

@@charlesmckinley29 this is exactly what I was talking about on the video. They kept blaming me when I would tell them about a problem I found. What a absolute joke. This is by far the worst manufacturer I have ever encountered as a customer or a product reviewer. Could you imagine being a customer of this company?

@@scopemate-Cam look, the bottom line here is you sent me a scope camera that has major design flaws. You expected me to test and evaluate ( beta test ) your product for you for free. So you could take the issues I found and correct them on future models that you build. This is all supposed to be done before you put something on the market for sale. Before you send products to reviewers. I reviewed the product you sent to me, I pointed out all the problems it has because they are very huge problems. They prevent the product from performing the task it was designed for. And had you listened to me the very first day and not tell me that I “wasn’t using the product right” we would not be here right now. I made this video because I think that your customers have a right to know the performance of your product, or lack thereof. Maybe next time you will send out prototypes to people that know how to use your product, listen to them when they tell you there are problems, fix them and then, only then release them for sale. That way your customers get the very best product you can give them. That’s how you release a product to market. Not try and get people to improve your product for you for free. That is not right, and releasing a product to the public that has not had all the bugs worked out of it IS WRONG!
