Proud to present my version of the music for the Blender Open Movie "SPRING."
Check out the Soundtrack only version: / scorerelief2021-spring...
I made use of the opening 4-note motive throughout and filled the scene with beautiful fantasy music. I made sure not to over hype the dog chase scene and utilized extensive tempo mapping to create a rubato feel.
Scored in Sibelius first for best orchestration.
Like the Northern Film Orchestra, I used the instrumentation of 1111 2110 Perc Hp Pno/Cel Strings
First time using Logic's Articulation sets, and I love this workflow!

I like the different approach you've taken, romantic, classical style. Sounds really great, especially the brass. It works great in the chase scene. Maybe at the end, the powerful style doesn't quite fit the delicate and subtle awakening of nature. It sounds awesome though!

Yeah I stuck with the Northern Film instrumentation fairly strictly (couple synths and extra percussion notes that could work as dubbed parts). Thought the heavy drums I've been seeing a lot of was a little overkill for this animation. The "delicate and subtle awakening of nature" is one way to look at it hahah, for my interpretation, it was more the grand return of Spring after a long cold winter. They were standing at a cliff overlooking a great landscape so personally felt delicate was not the mood for me. Though there are a lot of great submissions that go delicate here

I should add, in the original film, they go delicate, but we are looking at a shorter clip without all of the context, which is why I made the change to better fit the internal story

@@DIDCHOI Good choice of instruments, and great use of libraries. I did full orchestral, cause had just 3 days time to do this, and thought it would be easier to just use my template. Yes, I've heard a lot of heavy, epic drums in the submissions. Haha yeah it is interesting to see different approaches, and now when you explain it, yours is a totally valid approach. It was definitely grand :). Btw, I love Berlin Woodwinds, I have them too :D.
