i just came back from their concert in Budapest. they were spectacular. the concert was full of elderlies with their kids and grandkids, you could see the happiness and nostalgia on their faces. it was so heartfelt long live Scorpions
This shows their hard work and intitiative to break into the market, especially in America. You have to admire how they overcame so many obstacles by believing in themselves. Very inspiring ! I have been a fan since I saw them on the Blackout tour in 1982.
Heres a question... why doesn’t Rudolf OR Matthias have signature guitars? A signature Gibson Flying V and I think Matthias favourite guitar was a black and white strat from what I can see from live videos.
The 80's were considered by critics to be all about self indulgence. When hasn't it? Yet we all felt so much safer during these times than the millennia.
Somehow I must've missed this Hard + Heavy from the Video Beat in Evanston-The only all music video place in Chicagoland 2 blocks away from me-so, this is this 1st time I've seen this. And so cool about the Micheal /UFO story which I've heard but I never saw this. Thanks.
Lol, actually Michael talked in person to Uli before he moved to England so they already could have an excellent replacement, it was not an Uli's idea to join the band , it was a Michael's suggestion and it was also Michael who met Herman Rarebell in Brighton and sent him back to Germany when he heard that Scorpions needed a new drummer in 1977...
Ironically this documentary took place the first (of three) times I would see them. The Frankfurt Fest Halle. 1989. I had a giant poster board with the titles of their first then (13) albums or so in 4" block letters multi colored stenciled. I hoped to get singled out by the band for having the coolest sign- In those days if you bought a "main floor" ticket you were just standing and you could just try and muscle your way as close to the front as you could get. (No specific assigned area-first floor or second floor). I got very close to the front but the body slamming of the crowd trampled the sign underfoot while Cinderella opened and the sign was destroyed before they ever came on stage. Incidentally, I saw them the second time at Roger Waters performance of The Wall at the Wall in 1990 (opening band)-and in 1997 at VA Beach (much better show on the home soil.)
Damn, It just hasn't hit me yet, that last thursday was going to be last time I saw this guys. It's so sad for music that a band this great is leaving, as well as judas priest and others, they're leaving a huge hole that nobody will be able to fill, at least they're saying goodbye and giving us a chance to bring back old memories. Scorpions will rock us forever!!
The song at the very end during the credits with the lyric that says "take a look at this place..." or sounds like it, does ANYONE know what that song is?
