Recently, a major revolution occurred in Bangladesh, and my father recommended me this song to listen to. I know my comment won't be seen, but the song, and the visuals struck such a chord in me, because I just saw these exact images right in front of my eyes in my homeland, it made me cry. It's a wonderful song.

Feeling like this song needs to be heard today because of our current conflict. This is such a beautiful melody and sentiment. I pray the new children of tomorrow may still have dreams to share.

Why is the best songs always posted on the year I was born?

I was 20 years old the night the Berlin Wall came down. I stayed up for hours watching it happen on live TV. Having grown up during the Cold War, it was nothing any of us thought could ever happen. But it did. This song captures the feeling of the time perfectly. Relations with the Soviet Union were improving, and the looming threat of nuclear Armageddon seemed to be fading into history. Fast forward to today.. how did things go so far backwards? It seems to me like many have forgotten those dark awful days of the past. Perhaps they need to listen to this song. Perhaps the whole world needs to again

True story: this song came on the radio while I was driving home from the hospital with my wife and daughter after said daughter had been in the NICU for 2 months after being born pre-mature by about 2 months. It was a very happy occasion for my wife and I and it was like God decided to play DJ for a moment

When music used to be about change and a better world.

This music should return. It was the life and the music I grew up listening too

My dad was in the armed forces when i was a kid and we lived in Spandau, Berlin back in the early 70's. The Wall was 800 yards from our living room window. Something you don't forget!.

My father used to always whistle a beautiful tune when I was growing up, and it has since stuck with me, especially after his passing. Always thought it was just some random tune, so imagine my shock and surprise when I heard that very same whistle tune come blaring out of the blue from a nearby radio the other day! What an incredibly beautiful song, it'll remind me of a heartfelt memory every time I hear it. Very grateful to be able to learn some more of what my father was like through his music taste!

This hits just as hard as it did in 1991.

I remember when the wall came down and freedom began to ring for a reunited Germany. The 20th century was tough on Europe and the world. Hopefully that peace can last considering how troubled the world continues to be.

Really makes me think of how important the events of 1989-1991 have been. Everything from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the collapse of the Soviet Union has changed the entire world in one way or another. And to see all the clips played to this stunning piece of music gives me goose bumps and brings a tear to my eye.

I have always loved this song and it affects me on a very personal level. The winds of change in the late 80s and 90s opened a whole new world for me and many more. My Russian wife was allowed to come to Korea to study in 1998. I was teaching English in Korea and one night I met her and fell in love and followed her back to Russia where I took a job teaching English. Without the winds of change we would most likely never have met and our two lovely daughters would never have been born.

The song captured the moment of 1991. The world was going to be awesome! There was so much optimism. I was there. I was 20. I remember it. It didn't pan out. New enemies and plagues just filled the place of the old ones. I know feel like the 80s were actually better than today.

It's an iconic song. For me it is THE song that represented the new hope we had at the end of the first cold war. Now there is a new cold war unfortunately.

Graduated in 86, still lovin these guys. Huge part of my junior and high school years. I can still play this at the top of a mountain we all partied on and have it carry for miles. It's so beautiful at 3:00 am and no one is around for at least ten miles. Mid 50's and still lovin the Scorpions 💙
