Amazing match report. I think this Scotland victory ended a horrendous losing run, and was accomplished against a Welsh side bristling with Lions' players. Peter Kinninmont(?) was the star player of the team. Thank-you for uploading this!

1951 was my first year in Grammar School in Wales and I remember going into school on the Monday morning and seeing a group of teachers and VI Form pupils huddled in the corridor talking quietly. My immediate thought was that someone from the school had died. The Welsh "team of all the talents" as it was called had died that Saturday.

And it was Kininmonth, a "bloody backrow forward" who dropped the goal that started the rout. Something a forward had no right doing back then. "Your job is to give the ball to the backs, they are the ones who think!"
