Total respect lads ,very, very talented people. There are mechanics today who would have charged 2k just for "thinking about" and "contemplating" the work you's two have done in this vid.

I had the 307d and they love to rust but credit to you keeping her on the road . The engines are bullet proof as they are called the million mile engine but they are slow. Good luck with all you are doing.

Headgasket seemed fine, but nice to get the head refreshed.

Fair play for doing this lads, that's quite a job to take on if neither of you are mechanics, good work. Having somewhere to do it, a good friend to help you makes a difference. I wonder what the garage bill would have been? Like you say, you have learnt the inside of your engine, that's valuable.

Thanks! Yeah it was quite the task with lots of uncertainty but we got there in the end! Yeah it cost me about £1000 for everything and the other bits too that I did but god knows, upwards of £3k I’d say haha!

Awesome… great work men.. & difficult conditions .. really enjoyed watching .. Rose will reward you… I need a pallet truck it seems.. out with a broken 616 & a decision on the choice of some extra hp OM60X replacement… look forward to next week… cheers

Thanks Gerry! I will be documenting it on full detail on my Mercedes t1 diesels channel👍 also I believe you just slice them all the way forward and they come off. I don’t have the original seats 😂😂

English man living in Scotland 27yrs….. Average temperature difference between England & Scotland varies max 10 degrees in all seasons and Yes, it’s rains more but not as much as is made out but I thought vehicles were mostly waterproof 🤷‍♂️ That’s a van with 1/4 million miles on it and the bodywork reflects that. Good luck with living in England mate…..I’d never move back and sincerely hope Scotland gets independence and border control

I think you misunderstood my point. It was merely a clickbait title, but I also experienced over 2 weeks of sub zero temperatures and down to -12, my van saw many hills potholes and salt due to driving in the winter. The reason I took the engine out was just because it was about time, if I’d done that mileage in Europe, I would’ve done the same thing.

Van life is just so hard on vans I think that's why a lot of females get into trouble because talking honestly this kind of thing is just beyond them and it costs a fortune to get somebody else to do it...

Yep I always say a vale lived in fulltime is a hard life as it never gets a break! And yeah paying anyone to do mechanics is crazy nowadays, shame as there are some good places out there, as well as a lot of money taking garages
