Lovely reflections, John, I used to camp in my younger days in the area, but never been to the Loch. The Autumn colours reflecting in the Green of the loch worked really well.

There’s a wonderfully contemplative dimension to your videos. The background music is a nice touch. Thank you.

Excellent video John. Fantastic images especially number 10. At least the tourists distracted the ducks for you.

Thanks! Was lucky with the timing and the weather! Could have done with a bit of sunshine but that probably gives me an excuse to go back!

Beautiful and calm video John. Really enjoyed this one. 18 minutes of calmness. The photos you captured were beautiful and I loved the colours of the trees on the reflected water. The polarizer sounds like something else I need to pick up. Nice tip about the reflection of the trees coming through better. You're a master of your art. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely video...oh those fairfeather friends Lol. My favourites were 10 and 13 amazing abstract reflections, the colours were gorgeous and the one's with the ducks of course.

John. If you're still in the area, the back road between Inverdruie and Feshiebridge is awash with autumnal colour especially by the Loch an Eilein junction.

Thanks Jonny. Unfortunately I shot this a few weeks ago, but I'm hoping to get back up this way soon so I'll make a point of visiting that area. Thanks!

Great video John , I really struggled to get a composition here, and the green really only stood out at a high vantage spot, the woodland leading up is another story

Thanks Jeff. I had toyed with the idea of climbing higher and shooting down into the loch but the arrival of all the people put me off. Do you have to go far up the hillside?

Okay, I'll say it for you ... stunning ! I guess the green colour comes from the slate/shale scree in the lochain on the other side reflecting the trees. Lucky to get such a calm day and perhaps the overcast conditions allowed longer shutter speeds. Pretty perfect all round.

Thanks Iain. Aye I was lucky with the timing all round as it started to rain on the way back to the car. Torrential by the time I reached Aviemore, so I think the early start paid off in more ways than one!

Amazingly no one hurt. She took out my car, a row of Rhododendron bushes and a Scottish Water sub-pumping station. Going too fast and possibly hitting the accelerator rather than the break at a junction. I waited for the police and the water board, she moved her car and hid it in an underground parking bay. The police were still looking for her when I was uplifted by a tow truck three hours later. Luckily I got photos and her name before she disappeared.@@JohnMcKennaPhotography

The green colour comes from the fairies washing their clothes in the loch.

Nice work as always John. I noticed you were shooting at high f numbers (f22 on one image), what was your reasoning for this?
@JohnMcKennaPhotography
@JohnMcKennaPhotography 8 месяцев назад
thanks! Two reasons for the aperture choice. I wanted a soft focus feel on the images as I thought the colour looked quite surreal so I wanted to give the images a bit of an "other worldly" feel. I was also using a lot of close subjects as foreground interest so I wanted the maximum possible depth of field.

beautiful location, beautiful shots, and the 2nd time I've been taken to The Green Loch on RU-vid in as many weeks. "The King of Boundless Enthusiasm" Henry Turner uploaded images from this location just a few days ago, and with this second look at the location the result is, this place is now on my list of places to visit in BOLD TYPE, really HAVE to go here methinks

It is well worth a visit. I've not seen Henry Turner's video yet but a few people have mentioned it, so I'll be watching that tonight!
