I'll say it once again, you two LIFT UP THIS WORLD more than you will ever know - thank you for sharing your gloriously wonderful sweet dear lives with us all!
Once upon a time there was a fairytail with sweet princess Kirstten and her lovable princeJorge, traveling alloverAnglia's land with their fairycar..here they stayed in a simpe but comfortable castle, made us dreeming and wishing to be with them in their beautifull staying...love you both, keep traveling and sharing the trips...
Scotland, itself, is so filled with wild land scapes, sweeping views, to have silence to hear the 'bluster' of the winds...the simplicity of the rooms is respectful. Charming. Not in competition. Love it.
I think we really are privileged to be able " to go with you" and see such a interesting places and buildings. Kirsten, your voice is so inviting and the choice of words so aesthetically beautiful - that any subject becomes interesting, indeed. Robert Burns as a figure of enlightenment is genius, for sure. And so romantic! I am really impressed by this journey! ❤️ Thank you so much! ❤️🌞
@@sophiecroft01 Hi, 🌞 It is really so much more than just a voice that so many people have mentioned... The tone and intonation is used so wisely and carefully 🌞 If I would say - professionally - that would be boring, I think 🤔🙃. There is some sparkle of magic, but just some🌞..It is really an education and experience, but most importantly - AN ATTITUDE! 🥰
Pineapple were given at Plantation Homes to the guest on the outside of their bedroom door when it was a hint time to leave. People stayed a longer time in the early 1800’s because travel was long to each destination.
Hello from Alabama USA! The Pineapple; what a unique place! The pineapple stands for hospitality and welcome. The simple decor without the intrusion of electronics just made me sigh. Absolutely calming. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place. ♥️🤗😃
Kirsten and Joerg, your videos carry the magic of dreams! If one is depressed you make them happy again. The United Kingdom is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and this place here is totally amazing!! I wonder if one can be a member of the Landmark Trust without living in the UK. I so wouldlove to visit this place, and think I just might do so next year, it is so incredible! Thank you for taking me along!
Oh thank you so much, that's so kind! Oh you can't be a member of the Landmark Trust, only a supporter. Since they are a charity that lets amazing holiday properties (highly recommended), you can book and stay at their wonderful places.
I loved the Pineapple! Visited it in 1979 on my way back to the States from a year living in Greece. Of course in 1979, there were no rooms there to let, just frames of falling apart greenhouses that were built along the walls of the building where they actually grew pineapples in the 1800s.
So many historical buildings in Scotland & England that sadly have fallen into disrepair….the pineapple house is wonderful..so unique…thanks so much for this beautiful informative video💗🇨🇦
Thank you so much! Yes - the problem is it is CRAZY expensive to renovate these buildings as you would need to adhere to certain laws and not everyone needs these large houses so there's that.
We love how the Pineapple was restored!🍍🤗 It's sad that Dunmore manor/castle didn’t have the opportunity to be restored too. It was beautiful in its time. Thanks for another lovely time in Scotland with you two!❤
Such a charming building. But I am astonished that they didnt build adjoining doors in during the renovation so you can switch the buildings on dry foot in winter. I have seen quite a few snowy winters in Scotland...
Oh the oven pie!! ■ Flash back last night, the littlest Grandson woke after dinner wanting the shrimp and foraged Chicken of the Woods mushroom...in tears, I rolled a hotdog bun flat and sauteed cherry tomatoes and loaded the pie with the ingredients as earlier; he said, "Shrimp is my favorite!" It is so important to know how to be a quick order chef, even if it is a trial run!! M
Podróże z Wami do tych pięknych miejsc są zawsze cudowne , a gdy jeszcze widzę jak gotujecie ,jestem szczęśliwa 😀 dziękuję ,czekam na następne spotkanie ❤
What a fabulous building..loved the simple rooms.....lovely grounds..so enchanting...Joerg made me laugh when he opened the oven and said..Oh yeah !! ☘️ XX
What a unique place. And Kirsten, your hair always looks quite pretty on you. I hope you loved your stay at the Dunmore Pineapple. Such a beautiful job they did at preserving it. Oh, your recipes looked so delicious without the fuss. I will definately be trying those. Thanks for the lovely visit. You two are delightful. Take care and safe travels! 💖
Such a lovely video of the Scottish Pineapple 🍍Summer House! I absolutely loved the Pavilion and gorgeous windows ❤️! The grounds and garden 🪴 are stunning! Thank you so much for taking us along on your travels through Scotland ❤️
Well I had to stop the video and Google Quark because I live in the U.S. and apparently it is very much like greek yogurt thta is sold here. What an interesting and unique place The Pineapple was to see and it was sad to see that it had ever been abandoned, it must have been just amazing back in the day. Looked like a very peaceful place to stay and you don't find many peaceful places to stay in the U.S. so you guys are so fortunate. Thank you for all the wonderful videos you prepare for our enjoyment!
You again surprised us with an enchanting location-very unusual this time-love it. Also your walks and your delicious recepies.....All so beauttifully filmed...THANK YOU from Germany
Beautiful place and interesting history. I loved the scene with you and Jorge having tea in the pavilion, beautiful setting with the arch windows and stone walls, would make a beautiful picture! ❤ 🫖 ☕️ 🍪
Charming as always Kirsten and jeorg. Thankyou for sharing the history of the place. It's lovely to see how organisations restore and preserve for the future.
Whenever you do a video I find myself transported to where you are staying and sometimes at the end I feel as though I have been with you and it is a lovely experience. Thank you so much. God bless you both. XX
Here is the US we don't have quark generally. One can probably find it in certain regions. I lived in Germany twice (how I miss the bread!) so I have had it. Yummy for breakfast. Here in Virginia the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality, seen often as a design in old iron gatework. I so adore your videos.
King Charles should ennoble you, Lady Kirsten and Sir Joerg, you are the best ambassadors for the United Kingdom! Thank you for all your wonderful videos 😘 (And for cooking flamekuche in the heart of Scotland 😜😍😄😄) ❤❤
The grounds are so magical and beautiful!! 🤩 amazing transformation too!! Such pretty windows .. I agree Kirsten! What a fascinating structure! Pineapple 🍍 dessert looks delicious! Lovely and interesting tour.. thank you Kirsten and Joerg!! 🍍 🍍 🍍
That is so sad to see something so beautiful go abandoned. I think that the place where you are staying is so very beautiful. I love the sitting room and bedrooms they are so awesome. Your pizza looked so delicious. Your dinner looks so delicious. Hope you both have a wonderful evening. Enjoy your weekend.
What a lovely place to stay. I loved the teapot too. I stayed at a Landmark Trust place in Cornwall a few years back - Danescombe Mine. Being able to walk through the woods from the front door was magical and really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the terrace. If you get the chance to get down that way, would thoroughly recommend it. I’m hoping to stay at one of their properties on Lundy Island at some point (although the campsite may be more in my budget 😂😂)
Hi K and J👋👋, WOW!!! My Scottish blood is feeling all the love here. I LOVE Scotland and this building. I just recently watched several Documentaries on the birth of Scotland and the people( the Pics and Gaels) it is so very interesting. First some reason….. I got an energy of Divinity here at the P. IDK… the buildings and the grounds felt Spiritual. You guys make such beautiful memories from your travels. The “ Flatbread(??) with the Quark looked so delish, I must try something like it, yum. As always, Thanks for all your hard work and your wonderful channel. I love it so much. And MORE Scotland next video. Yippy❤
Fabulous! I thought I was in a Jane Austen film at the beginning with Kirsten walking through the grass! I adore the house. So beautiful and calm in it's simplicity. The best bit though was Joerg's "Oh yes" when he opened the oven!! Success! Thank-you both so much, you are wonderful x
I am a true believer that less is more. The property is absolutely beautiful. I have massive appreciation and tons of respect for true craftsmanship even to the smallest of things, but I have to say that the work, devotion and skill that must have gone into producing something as spectacular as that pineapple building is staggering. The masonry work is outstanding. As always, a massive thanks to you both for taking me on your journey, keep your vids coming ❤, take care, Tony here in the UK 🇬🇧❤
What a wonderful and lovable video, such a special building. To me it prooved, that open minded free people with a big sense for slightly crazy things were part of all times. It's a very special place and spirit there, thank you so much.
Wow! The Pineapple ist auch schon eine Weile auf meiner Wunschliste. Die Landmark Trust Properties sind aber auch alle so toll. 😍 Freue mich immer auf ein neues Video von euch. Liebe Grüße aus Sachsen!
As usual a dreamy relaxing vlog! Loved the pinesple and the windows, the butterflies and bee, those amazing plants and flowers in the walked garden.Very fine House gone to ruin ,I expected Elizabeth Bennet to appear at any moment..Love the récipes this week ❤ the photography and músic terrific.A huge thank you for showing us round...Darling blue and white teaset!!! LOVE how Kirsten waved goodbye through the window!!
You got me with that charming teapot. 🥰 Looks like you had near perfect weather for a getaway. I love old homes and the charming details like those windows. Can’t wait for your next foray.
I have never heard of the Pineapple building in Scotland.. Nor had I heard of Quark or Halloumi. I learned a lot today in your video! LOL.. It looked like such a perfect stay, and with the National Trust garden I’d say it was perfect. Thank you for taking us along! Hoping you kept the midges at bay! ❤️Beverlee
Always love your travels and recipes too. Yes, we do have "Quark" here in the US in mostly European grocery shops, but of course not all stores sell it.
The Flammkuchen looked good! I’ve never seen quark in Texas, but I think states like Vermont, might sell it. Nudleholtz! I love how you incorporate German in your videos! Danke schoen! Love Doug from Dallas. 😊
Wow what a place! I never knew there was a "big pineapple"🍍in Scotland. We have one in Queensland Australia as a tourist attraction (there are many 🍍 plantations in Qld) it stands 16 metres tall and is made of fibreglass. Thank you for taking us to visit the Scottish one.
We stayed there a few years ago. I wanted to find Dunmore House but it's quite a walk - or even better the tunnel leading to it, but I think that is under the pineapple and bricked up. We had breakfast in the Pavilion. Shame you cannot get into the conservatories under the bothies. My favourite picture was the boys too x
What a beautiful historic building in stunning Scotland on a summer day! You, Kirsten, with ur soft, calm voice and Joerg's enthusiastic spirit could make a war zone sound enchanting! A firm, white, salty cow cheese such as halloumi combined with the sweet-sour fruity taste of pineapple is a perfect combo. The earlier dish is like a German pizza! Thank u again for a wonderful tour! ❤
I just had to find out about quark and here’s what I read: So what are the best quark substitutes? Cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, Greek yogurt culture, mascarpone cheese, and crème fraîche are all good alternatives to quark cheese, though you really owe it to yourself to try making this fantastic cheese yourself to find its own unique cheese voice!May-2013 I hope this helps some viewers interested 😊
What a delightful video.....Love Scotland. Oh, that flammkuchen looks very much like my grandfather used to make....Swiebelkuchen....or a type of onion pie with bacon, cream and butter on a flat bread crust.... Delicious! The estate looks lovely and your walk was interesting. Thank you for taking us along!
Looking at the remains of Dunmore Park, and after just 60 years, it is remarkable how quickly nature reclaims its territory. It must have taken many years and a lot of money to restore the Pineapple. I love the simple restoration, especially the wood panelling.
