The chemical waste at Love Canal was obviously very dangerous. Fortunately, chemical waste disposal is now carefully controlled in the US. I'll have to read the book!
Thanks Dad! I would really love to know what you think of it and any insights you would have on the lasting repercussions from these chemicals for both the people and the land.
Jealous. Scotland is one of my all time favorite places. Edinburgh is gorgeous. The dolls were so creepy. 😅 The River We Remember is on my bookshelf. I hear so many good things about it. Adding Paradise Falls to the TBR
I love a good creepy doll! Just not in my house 😅 I would love to hear what you think about both of those books. Whenever I hear Melinda speak so highly about a book I know it is always worth a read!
Why do all those dolls look like victorian accountants? So creepy. My next holiday is going to be Scotland i think, I want to hike around there. Taylor Swift wrote a song that mentions a pub near my work called The Black Dog and now its always busy, she is a force of tourism.
😂Victorian accountants does seem to sum it up. I love a good creepy doll! There are some amazing hikes in Scotland! The first time I went we were able to do some hiking. This time we had the children with us which always makes it hard to walk for too long. Taylor Swift really is doing something right now. It is quite the movement!
Oh my goodness, that's so awesome you have fam in Edinburgh! I've been there one time briefly and by pure accident went during fringe. It was crazy. The library looks so nice, and yes please to fiber arts and book chat. Glad to hear Paradise Falls was a hit, and definitely report back if your dad reads it!
Well I have had family in Edinburgh for a couple weeks 😅 They went out on vacation so we were able to meet up with them 😊 I need more fiber arts in my life! I have been hoping to start on an embroidery project but the planning stage is taking way longer than I thought. Thank you so much for the recommendation on Paradise falls! My dad says he will read it so I am really excited to see what he thinks😀
I'm glad to hear that The River You Remember (mostly) worked for you! How fun that you got to go to the Eras tour. My niece went when it was in Seattle and it is the highlight of her life (so far!)
@@savagereads wow!!!!! I watched leena norms' video about making her dress for the show and her step-back-and-observe-the-moment attitude really jived with me
Paradise Falls intrigues me. Have you read many books set in institutions and asylums? They really grab me, especially Nonfiction. Thank you for including Scotland bits...I adore that evocative country.
I have read a few books set in institutions! One of my favorite non-fiction ones is The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore. It was really eye-opening!
