Scott, have you given up on politics? I thought for a while you were considering running for office. You're still relatively young, very sharp and have great traditional values. Our country (especially blue cities within blue states like our home state New York) is about to erupt before the summer's end. It's hard to tell what the fallout will look like, but this coup is over!! Trump will make America great again and he can probably use people like you with conservative clout and good old-fashioned intellect!
Two family members come to mind thinking about close talkers. I try to avoid them, but like you talked about...they always find you and keep moving in closer! It is so gross when you have to wash your face after having a conversation with someone! 🤮
Seriously, I am extremely claustrophobic, when I get one of those people who has to continue staying toe to toe with you, it makes me very nervous and anxious. I don't like feeling that way, I keep stepping back, They keep stepping forward. I will tell them straight out, I need you to step back a bit. Stay beyond arm's reach and we're good. Omgosh, if someones snot hit me, I would definitely Freak 😱😂😂. I love this honest conversation, even if some are kinda gross 😂 💨
Love the new set, absolutley beautiful! What I cannot understand is how close talkers do not get the hint when you back away. So frustrating. Mark, you forget your paper bag! Lol
People grow old, their dental situation changes and the manner in which they pronounce words changes too. Caps and crowns cause people to spit and sputter resulting in the recipient to back away. Just recently, I sat across from an older woman who insisted on talking to me while eating and I had to guard my dinner with my hand. Food was lobbing over my plate like tennis balls. LoL!
I love the new location for these Take On Life segments! It is so much more serene and spacious, instead of the way things looked before, where y'all looked like you all "stuffed" in a walk through closet. 😛 Good job guys, and love y'all bunches! 💖💖💖
You are talking about not leaving the house to go out until 10, or later......imagine living in my small town where we have three places to go: Grocery store, closes at 7:00; the gas station and our "mall," (Dollar General), which both close by 9:00. When we hang out, the booze is stored in the garage & we do it bon-fire style.
I’m not a fan of a close talker either but..My husband is deaf in one ear and hearing aid in the other and in a noisy environment he leans in to hear. Leans into their ear when he speaks as if they are deaf too. 😂I wonder if others do it for that reason too. The spitters and snotters I can’t speak for 😅😂.
I'm deaf in both ears and read lips. If the speaker mumbles or has facial hair (bikers and Greek women) I find myself leaning in to catch what they're saying. The alternative is to react to body language with the appropriate laugh, frown etc...
Haa, this is great....Yep close talking CAN BE a cultural thing. In Europe ppl are IN your face and standing a foot away from you in line, DRIVES me insane..But here I think it's some kind of spacial un-awareness or something?? It is very strange though...
