SCOTT BAKULA IS A GENIUS! HE TOTALLY OWNED TWO OFF-BROADWAY MUSICALS BEFORE FAME ON "QUANTUM LEAP." HE ROCKED SINGING IN "THREE GUYS NAKED FROM THE WAISTE DOWN" AND "ROMANCE/ROMANCE."
Scott is a charming and genuine individual; I had the honor of having my picture taken with Scott at the 2006 "Star Trek Convention" in Las Vegas. What a sweetheart; he's the "real deal." :)
Tracy Frye : I have been a fan of his for a long time. ‘Quantum Leap’, such a great TV series because of him and Dean Stockwell ( so talented from childhood on up, miss him!). He is so very talented and under-rated. I try to watch anything that he stars in. He was also fabulous on ‘Murphy Brown’. I really liked him on his Star Trek ‘Enterprise’ TV series; although, the writing didn’t seem to let his talent shine till closer to the end of that series. His guest appearance on ‘Boston Legal’ was so nice, especially when he sang. Now my husband enjoys watching him on ‘NCIS, New Orleans’.
This was really funny, I almost find it hard to believe that Rosie the Broadway queen didn't know that Scott Bakula was up for a Tony award against Michael Crawford of all people, but MC won for Phantom of the Opera. I was waiting for her to jump on that. This is like late great actor Jerry Orbach, nobody realized what a rich Broadway/singing background he had before playing a tough detective on Law and Order for years. Great clip! :D
This was about 3 years prior to Scott playing Captain Archer on Enterprise..Rosie mentions William Shatner was sitting in that same chair the day before--how IRONIC!
@Guitarrigirl, I went to a Star Trek Convention in Richmond, Virginia almost a month ago, and Sally Kellerman - the girl who was on a famous episode of the original series and was nominated for an Oscar in the film version of M*A*S*H* - has met Scott Bakula several times at conventions, loves him, but didn't know he could sing. Since I burned "Romance/Romance" to my computer, and it's not available through digital download as far as I know, I gave her my CD. Her manager was very grateful!
That was really kind of you. Romance/Romance is such a great score (and frankly much better than Phantom). That was how I knew who he was, as a B-way performer, long before QL started airing.
No joke I came out of my apt in manhattan NYC and saw him by ST Marks Place with some woman and I see tons of celebs,musicians all the time but damn when I saw him I had to say hi and he was such a cool cat and he really is into music I would love to jam with him
@Steve I realize the audio is bad. I had no choice over that. I didn't record this clip and only put it up here so that a friend could see it. I'm not sure what goal you had in mind when you made your statement, but you do seem to have a firm grasp of the obvious. Congratulations.
