Sharon here: We all have only one life. Scott lives his with dignity, strength, compassion. caring ... and with purpose. I'm sure everyone wishes they were his friend. He is a treasure.
This song seems to describe Scott's life so far. Even now he runs a school teaching another generation of figure skaters. And even if he wasn't, he already changed figure skating forever with his performances and sheer energy.

Scott Hamilton is a GOAT! I still remember being 12 years old and 1984, and watching him win the gold from my hospital bed. I have cerebral palsy, and I had recently had my second hamstring surgery. That's what made me fall in love with figure skating. Thank you, Scott.
Scott is athletic, masculine and graceful all at the same time, which is not often the case with male skaters. He's one of a kind and it's sad that his is a vanishing breed. I love his signature back flip, but I also like what seems to be his other signature move, not sure if this is what they are called but I refer to them as barrel rolls because it looks like he'd holding onto a spinning barrel. Scott, just got your up tonight. It put a smile on my face. Thank you for being a member of my support team. You upping my messages lately has put a smile on my face and is helping me,to know your thinking of me. It means everything especially now. I had to end up breaking off a toxic friendship, it was bad just to put it in a nice way, I ended up being the one who got really hurt emotionally. Hearing from you has helped me to see that I'm not alone. You are my ray of golden sunshine. I'm so grateful thankful and blessed to call you my spiritual older brother. classyteacherdiva He no longer skates in shows like Stars on Ice. But he does Skate privately and skates in some other shows. Last year he was diagnosed with cancer again. But he's doing well and is still enjoying life. ( he's done interviews since can you can find fthem here on RU-vid)
He and his wife started a skating school for children. I know he’s not totally hands on. But imagine you’re 10 years old and Scott Hamilton comes out on the ice to conduct your class. I’m assuming if the children are old enough their parents have made them aware of who Scotty is.
