Scott’s playing is just sublime , he has a seemingly endless capacity to create beautiful melodic lines , I’d rather listen to his solos than any other jazz musician alive or dead , I’ve listened to these transcribed solos over and over again and they are so perfect almost like he’s had a week to work on every phrase and that goes even with the fastest of tempos
Aside from Scott's ability to deliver such wonderful melodic lines is the richness of his tone. His sound is big, sweet, and very distinguishable. I can tell it's him playing within the first few bars. His rare vintage Selmer SBA horn coupled with the Otto Link mouthpiece produces the perfect voice for his lyrical interpretations.
