This week the podcast welcomes one of the most dedicated and passionate carp anglers Scott Hatton.
Scott is a man who by his own admission isn't a "household" name in the carp fishing industry however he has recently completed the ultimate carp fishing challenge in the UK, something no carp angling superstar has ever achieved or even dare to try and complete.... A Windermere carp! Scott talks about his and his son Connors incredible time on the 3000 acre+ inland sea.
As well as this Scott talks about his love for fishing unknown big waters fishing for rumours, shadows and legends. There's a fascinating section on his fishing at "The Flash" as well as other more mainstream chapter such as angling for one of the biggest commons in the country. Scott takes us back to his days fishing the canal and exactly what his obsession with carp fishing has cost him in terms of sacrificing jobs.
This podcast is filled with passion and dedication in the purist form. there's no bait deals or hand out hear just pure blood, sweat, tears and incredible carp. Add in the fact that Scoot raised Connor his son single handedly whilst doing all this and then involving him in his father son fishing adventures then this podcast can't help but leave you feeling incredibly inspired.

Remember seeing Scott years ago in Star Angling, proper St Helens lad. That canal was all we really had back then other than a few big park lakes, but we loved it. Taylor Park, Eccleston mere and Carr Mill dam were proper waters for us and I think that's what makes northerners slightly more determined than the rest because access to venues was very limited. Scott has really portrayed us northerners in the best possible way, cheers mate ❤

I can identify this guys need to share the rewards with his lad i get that totally ! I’m the same with my sons the way i deal with it is to know that all being well they will have monster carp when im long gone in their carping journey that i could only dream about “ hopefully” . Good on these lads do what makes you happy i admire their dedication and staying power.

I don’t know Scott and I have never met him but it’s sad to see such a dedicated guy who just wants to make memories with his boy say that a shitty comment affects his self esteem. This is what’s wrong with elements of the scene these days. If you could bottle up Scott’s mindset and sell it he’d be a millionaire. Keep going lad your the real deal.

I feel sorry for this guy if all he wants to do is sit by a lake for a month. Of all things you could be doing in the world you decide to sit by a lake for a month. Yeah with his son but he would probably still be doing that kids or not. Can’t help but think what a waste of life. All the adventures out there you could be doing or seeing the world but you decide to doss by a lake. Each to their own but when he’s old and gran children ask what did you do when you left school grandad. “ I sat by a lake for a month and caught some fish “ . Don’t matter what lake or how hard they are to catch they won’t be impressed and it’s hardly inspirational. I love my fishing but a Month what kind of life is that.
